Today We Learn How Qualifications Work

Season 1 Episode 34
Will:

Indeed.

Christian:

Let's

Jerrell:

34. We're back from the international break. Did anybody go international?

Christian:

in our hearts.

Jerrell:

Yes.

Christian:

going international money, bro.

Jerrell:

No.

Christian:

Same.

Jerrell:

No, I do not. But we are back. We're back. We're gonna,

Christian:

We do. What? Do

Jerrell:

into it. Chris Christian's back, he had an

Christian:

a, a.

Jerrell:

and we're gonna talk about a lot guys. We're gonna talk about the FA cup quarters, what to look out for in the semis match. Day 30 review. We got Champions League to catch up on'cause that's happening next week. Yeah, on the eighth. And

Christian:

That's gonna be tough.

Jerrell:

match Day 31. We're football fellows. I'm Jarrell Wills here. Like I said, Christian's back. Shout out.

Christian:

Whoa.

Will:

It's

Jerrell:

He might. He might be back on the tractor. Who knows?

Christian:

Woo.

Jerrell:

Any shout outs? Guys? Any shout outs after this long break?

Christian:

Yeah.

Jerrell:

Yeah,

Christian:

Yeah. I do

Jerrell:

Yeah, what you got

Christian:

the first win in 2025 to the tractor boys.

Will:

Oh,

Christian:

That's my shout out.

Jerrell:

All right.

Will:

your shout out.

Christian:

That's my shout out. All of the tractors out there,

Will:

me and Jarrell James in Columbia over the international break,

Christian:

y'all. Shit. What?

Will:

literally that I was listening to after the game, it was just like, we already won. We lost, and then we tied.

Christian:

Bro,

Will:

So yeah. Fuck,

Christian:

Paraic game was fucking sad. I don't know if you guys watched that game.

Will:

No, we were playing soccer. We had

Christian:

Ah, yes. That's why I didn't go to our So game. Yeah, I was watching it with my dad and like the whole time we were up to zero and we were just like, we're not looking good. It's, it was just, we were up to zero for the majority of the game and we were just. Playing like shit, I don't know what's up with our Colombian coach who refuses to sub, refuses to sub. And I was like, Hey, Lucho is fucking exhausted. What do you wanna do? Bring in Yeti, Mina. And I was like,

Will:

But he's class,

Christian:

bro,

Will:

Also shout out. Shout out. Shout out. Jarrell.'cause Jarrell, I have a question for you.

Jerrell:

Oh,

Will:

a website?

Jerrell:

we,

Christian:

saw that too.

Jerrell:

a website.

Christian:

saw that too.

Jerrell:

Yeah, yeah, yeah. So our socials, our socials are expanding guys. We have Instagram, we have Twitter at the Football Fellows. We have Blue Sky, the Football Fellows, blue Sky Social. We have a website, football fellows.buzzsprout.com.

Will:

are di we are penetrating. Your, your, your, your socials is what we're

Christian:

Can't wait for this podcast to show up on a job interview.

Jerrell:

We're gonna be with hashtags and everything. Don't

Christian:

you remember?

Jerrell:

on your resume. Yeah, we have a website now. It's been 34 episodes in the making. We did it.

Will:

So when you said taint in episode four,

Christian:

Yeah.

Will:

and you said Edge, the Gooch, what? What did you mean by that?

Jerrell:

It's all about productivity.

Will:

Yeah,

Jerrell:

All right, let's get started'cause we've got a lot to talk about. Will you wanna gimme that Fake cup quarters.

Will:

So we had some quarters go on over the weekend. Fullham Fullham, they lost to Crystal Palace. Zero three. Crystal Palace makes their way into the semis.

Christian:

Speed. B.

Will:

Bridy did Nottingham Forest. They end up tied, but Forest make it through on penalties. Make it to semi their first FA cup. Semi-final since 1991. Before we were all born. Aston Villa has a comfortable 3.0 win o over Preston North End ending their Cinderella run. And man city, they keep the dream alive for a trophy. This season they get a win over Mout two, one two goals. Erling Holland. He picked up a ankle injury in this one. Looks like he's out for seven weeks. AKA probably the remainder in the the season. So Omar Mur there, January winter signing just became really important. They're hoping he's backed by the Club World Cup. So we have our semi-final set for the weekend of April 26th. We are headed to Wembley Fellas.

Jerrell:

Firmly.

Will:

Ingham Forest versus Man City, crystal Palace versus Aston Villa, in about 23 days as we record April 3rd,

Jerrell:

I did forget to, to leave the date. Oops, my bad.

Will:

each day we just do it a little different

Jerrell:

Just a little bit. Yeah.

Will:

is a spice of life and shit.

Jerrell:

Yeah. The Cinderella story for Preston North End sadly ended. I was, can't always get a Coventry run in the FA Cup. Oh,

Will:

guys got in the two matchups palace Villa Forest City, who you, who, who

Jerrell:

I want Forest and I want Palace Be entertaining.

Will:

I think I got Forest Villa right now on the carts.

Christian:

want Palace, but I feel like Villa with their summer signings are just, are they're, they're too strong right now. I think palace is, is gonna be able to match that.

Will:

I can't wait for us to be so wrong in three

Christian:

Bro,

Jerrell:

It's about to be man,

Christian:

it's on brand, bro, because like people listen to us to bet the opposite, bro.

Jerrell:

Yeah, we don't read the lines at all.

Will:

Just go the other way. Yeah. We also had Match day 30 while we were out drill Christian, whatever you guys wanna take it.

Christian:

I, I could take it. Sure. The most important, obviously Arsenal B Full two, one Finally.

Will:

unbiased

Christian:

Finally, finally, it's been like since 2002. 22. 22

Jerrell:

Two,

Christian:

I,

Will:

like, I don't know about that

Christian:

yeah. 2022. Since the last time we beat Fulham. It, it finally, finally moving on. Wolves beat West Hand. One zero. Tricky trees beat Manchester United one zero. My hour the pods. Tractor Boys be be MOH. Two one.

Jerrell:

Speak for the.

Christian:

Villa Sweat, Brighton. Three Zero. Man. City Beat Lester City. Two Zero. Newcastle Beat The Busy Beast. Busy Beast. Two one. Southampton tied against Crystal Palace. What was the score for Liverpool? Everton, our docket is.

Will:

knew. You already know this,

Jerrell:

No.

Will:

your challenge run. It was one nothing. Liverpool. Jota. I literally wrote a note. He scores the second half winner in Intensive Air, it's

Jerrell:

Very tense.

Christian:

It could have be a second half winner for 3, 3, 2, Chelsea beat Spurs one zero as of two hours ago.

Will:

An hour.

Jerrell:

An hour ago, yeah,

Will:

So Arsenal Fullham. How do you guys feel about it? What do you guys see?

Jerrell:

one back from hamstring injury just to lose another. The hamstring gods are not happy with Arsenal this season.

Christian:

Hammys just be popping left and right,

Will:

Jerry and

Christian:

popping hammies all over.

Will:

he had to knock like 15 minutes into this one. He played for another 55 minutes. He seemed to be able to walk it off, but he had to get subbed off. So some questions on the back line suddenly

Christian:

Did,

Will:

the questions that were being answered on our front line a little bit finally.

Christian:

Did he fall? Did someone yell?

Will:

yeah, everything hurts. I think Marino had a goal. Marine Nine. He continues to do I think six goals matches like his season high goal, total as our new striker. And Boka Osaka had a great goal off a backheel flick from

Christian:

Ooh.

Will:

Martinelli, I think probably played his best game of the season. It looked like just with the danger he is able to create out wide yeah, arsenal Up two oh early, gave up a late goal and extra time, but held on good result against the

Jerrell:

Looking strong up top.

Will:

it's like our, it's like other Newcastle over there where we can't just get any, can't get a win against them. So it was refreshing to see for sure.

Jerrell:

Fho. Oh,

Christian:

Game. Any other games that stuck out to you? Oh

Jerrell:

The wolves. The wolves get a little bit of, I would say they got a little bit of a cushion. They got three points, which they needed, but Ipswich also getting three points. Keeps

Will:

I'm

Jerrell:

wait.

Christian:

bro.

Will:

i'll,

Christian:

Bro,

Jerrell:

relax.

Christian:

dude.

Jerrell:

on the tractor, hang on.

Will:

points back.

Jerrell:

And Ipswich and wolves will get into a IBS switch and wolves face off in the next match day. So a chance for Ipswich. They control their own destiny.

Christian:

Yeah.

Jerrell:

get those three points, and then they'll need help after, after the next game,

Will:

I don't

Christian:

How many, how many matches left?

Will:

if Switch is gonna get hit

Jerrell:

there's seven, seven games left,

Will:

eight.

Jerrell:

eight.

Christian:

It's totally doable, bro, just because they have four wins and 30 matches. Does not mean they can't pick up three wins and eight matches and hope the wolves don't do shit for the rest of the bro. It's, we're good. You guys gotta believe. Y'all gotta hem your hys.

Will:

Is in my, bro, that's all you'd, that's your ministry at this point.

Jerrell:

That's.

Will:

Anthony Lango, he's able to get revenge gets the score against his older club. Scored in the fifth man against Manchester United. Manchester United. Crash among him. Force looking borderline good for

Jerrell:

No, not, not again. Forest is goaded.

Will:

Goed is crazy. Goed is insane. But yeah. I think Ameren after the game says he is I'm not gonna have enough time to do my job. So it looks like Manchester United continues to crash out. But one oh, boring affair for the most part. Manchester United, currently sitting 13th on the table with 37 points sitting by in Crystal Palace Bradford.

Jerrell:

It's a tough time being a Red Devil's supporter. Ugh.

Will:

yeah, we'll see. I feel

Jerrell:

But they still got Europa. They still got Euro.

Will:

There's that.

Jerrell:

Yeah.

Christian:

How is Europa doing?

Jerrell:

I think both.

Will:

That's your job. That's your job intern.

Jerrell:

United and Tottenham both advanced, I believe when they play

Christian:

You got something to play for?

Will:

I'm assuming next week as well on Thursday.

Jerrell:

I'll tell you. Yes. On the 10th. Yep. They both play. Tottenham will play n Trek, Frankfurt and Man United will play Leon.

Christian:

Ooh. Both seem to be pretty solid games, actually.

Jerrell:

Tune in. I think it's on Paramount actually.

Christian:

Uh uh.

Jerrell:

We don't watch the Europa League,

Will:

Yeah,

Jerrell:

but it's on Paramount.

Will:

and UCL are all on Paramount, so they have the coverage there if you're in the States, at least. Villa, speaking

Jerrell:

are you, are you reacting to the Instagram chat live on the podcast?

Christian:

What? Yeah.

Jerrell:

That's crazy.

Will:

are you reacting to Kristen's reaction live on the podcast?

Jerrell:

reacting to my reaction to Christian's reaction to the Instagram message on the podcast?

Will:

Are we bad at our job?

Jerrell:

Yes.

Will:

as Villa get a win at the Amex, they score three second half goals. So they're setting two points out a fifth. Trying to keep the shout alive to revisit UCL,

Jerrell:

Every point matters for the top seven.

Will:

every point does matter is getting tied up there. Man City. They beat City at the, Grish. He breaks his gold drought finally, he gets a goal this season. And the foxes, they still didn't even get a shot on target in this one. They've gone seven straight games without a goal.

Jerrell:

I think the hounds are released on the foxes this season. It just has not looked good for them.

Will:

they're my most depressing team to watch. Like Southampton at least, has shown a little bit of a, like something, but

Jerrell:

They took a lead. They took a lead.

Will:

break. Yeah. They blew another lead late. But

Jerrell:

Yeah.

Christian:

Yeah.

Will:

Yeah.

Christian:

Yeah,

Jerrell:

for a while.

Will:

Yeah.

Christian:

They blew it.

Will:

Yeah. So speaking of, yeah. So South Hampton, they're up one oh early. They give up a late equalizer and the second minute of extra time at the end of the game. So right now, south Hampton, they need two points to not finish tide or with the least amount of points of the season, least amount

Jerrell:

All time in the Premier League.

Will:

Were was 11 They're sitting at 10. So it

Jerrell:

yeah.

Will:

they were safe and they just, they dropped once. They would've

Jerrell:

They got eight more games. Can they do it?

Will:

Do we need to either one win or two draws?

Christian:

I get two.

Will:

You'd assume so, but we'll see. We'll see.

Jerrell:

Look at them. How many wins do they have?

Will:

that new castle and Brentford had a really fun game in St. James Park. Brian Omo, he hits the penalties 10 for 10 in the Premier League. Since his first penalty in 2 21, I thought that was neat. He hasn't missed a single penalty. The pk, God Sandra Ali he pretty much admitted. He was like, it was a cross, it was like 70% shot, cross 30% shot. I'm just glad I was able to get a winner as Newcastle are able to win as well. Darrell, you, I think you posted on the chat just saying our top seven were able to hold strong and

Jerrell:

Yes. And

Will:

correct.

Jerrell:

top seven all got three points. So keeps the race close. Nothing, basically, nothing changes.

Will:

Yeah, mercy Side Derby early

Christian:

to eighth close. I don't know what that one spot.

Jerrell:

Oh, we're not talking about Liverpool right now. They, they basically got it.

Will:

I literally started talking about liberal,

Jerrell:

You can talk about Liverpool, we're not talking about it.

Will:

In the 11th minute lucky to avoid a red Alexis McAllister. Lucky, lucky not to break his leg

Jerrell:

Oh

Christian:

Yeah.

Jerrell:

that was,

Will:

travel,

Jerrell:

was vicious.

Will:

Don't know how that wasn't given a red after the fact, but Liverpool gets a revenge. They score one. Oh, a controversial

Jerrell:

wanna make a spectacle of it.

Will:

Were you guys able to see the shout as to it was a goal that was scored off of a deflection off a defender. Who was defending Lucho? Who's offsides? But by letter of the laws, since Lucho didn't

Jerrell:

He didn't. Yeah, he didn't play it.

Will:

shit was whack as fuck. I feel like they deserve the result with the game flow of the game. But also as a defender, you're not gonna let that ball through if you know a guy's like right next, like in the box. So I

Jerrell:

Mm-hmm.

Will:

even if he's not playing the ball, you're technically, indirectly

Jerrell:

You're in the line of the pass

Will:

Yeah.'cause if you let it go, they don't put the flag down. He scores a goal off a turn, but, got away with the red. So I don't know. I guess just fuck, just fuck Everton, I

Jerrell:

ball ball. Don't lie.

Will:

ball don't lie.

Christian:

Molly Bushel does.

Will:

last fixture of the week, Chelsea Spurs ended in one of us. Christian said Enzo Fernandez 50th minute winner. Hy, when we do our award show at the end of the season, we do our Catfish of the year.

Jerrell:

If you wanted to watch a game where a lot was happening and nothing was happening at the same time. It was the Chelsea Tottenham game.

Will:

yeah,

Jerrell:

They were a lot.

Will:

of the week was that Newcastle one.

Jerrell:

yeah. I wish Bradford the away win again, but, or at least took points. They had a moment to, to at least draw, but. It is what it is. They're sitting in 11th,

Will:

So yeah, so fourth place through eighth place separated by five points right now in the Premier League.

Jerrell:

It's cooking.

Will:

Some something to watch. Yeah. Going late. And depending how UFO coefficients go for UCL qualification, we continue to monitor post our last international break.

Jerrell:

So Newcastle at this point because they won CarVal. They're just. Trying to get into a top four spot then, really?

Will:

It.

Jerrell:

does that, how does that work? They already have European they're in Europa next season. What we carbo, what does it say here? Conference league qualification. How does this work? I thought FA Cup got you. Qualification for European tournament help Christian.

Christian:

We are professionals.

Will:

They earn qualification in the playoff round of the Europa Conference League. And this can be overridden, depending whether they're finishing plays in the Premier League, pushes them into a superior continental competition.

Jerrell:

Okay.

Will:

So they're, they, they're definitely in a playoff for the UECL currently. depending on how coefficients go and where they finish on the table, they might qualify further, but they're in some type of Europe for sure next year. But

Jerrell:

So let me ask you,

Will:

I think they qualify,

Jerrell:

so primarily three teams qualify for Europa League. If somebody else, let's say Aston Villa, let's say the standings, it ended today, right? Man's Spot. Aston Villa wins the FA cup. Are they in the Europa League?

Will:

I think FA cup gets qualification, but it depends also on how the coefficient works and how deep teams go.'cause I think. we mentioned before, the Premier League is gonna have five teams that qualify, kind of like, Sarah did this year. so depending on how that looks, it might be instead of top four, the UCL, it's top five. I don't know what the knockdown is for that, whether six is now youropa and seven gets UECL or if it's just Europa and there is no UECL.

Jerrell:

Interesting. I'm just asking the questions the listeners want answers to. That's all.

Will:

Oh, okay. Yeah.

Jerrell:

I'm just going,

Will:

next

Jerrell:

I'm just going in. I'm just going into the Twitter bag.

Will:

Twitter put'em on the dock next time so I can look it up ahead of time so we're not just

Jerrell:

Nah, this, this was just, this was just on the fly. I was just looking at the standing and I was like, okay, so how are these qualifications actually working?

Christian:

So I think car I was reading into it so you guys probably answered it while I was in doing my investigative journalism.

Will:

am gonna mute myself. I'm gonna mute myself real quick. Go ahead, Chris.

Christian:

So care about cup winners, get the conference league playoff round. But if you guys already mentioned that if Yeah, he already mentioned it.

Will:

person.

Christian:

yeah, that's what I do.

Jerrell:

He's saying it for the people in the back just in

Christian:

Yeah.

Jerrell:

they

Christian:

Alright, so that was covered. Did we cover what happens to their placement if they do qualify? Higher than that.

Jerrell:

Yes,

Christian:

All right. Good shit, guys. We all learned something today. I love it here.

Jerrell:

it. I can't wait to ask again. Next week.

Christian:

Woo.

Will:

We're gonna get this rest off. We're gonna get this rest off for sure. All right, cool. Cool. Speaking of Europe y'all wanna talk about quarterfinals real

Jerrell:

I wanna talk about quarterfinals.

Christian:

Let's do it.

Will:

so

Jerrell:

How you,

Will:

matchups.

Jerrell:

you feeling about the Arsenal Madrid matchup First actually knowing what we know today.

Will:

I feel like it's gonna come back down to who has a better back line

Christian:

Yeah.

Will:

point of

Jerrell:

Oh, no.

Will:

I think going into it

Jerrell:

do we slot in outside of Gabby is saliva, right?

Will:

Yeah. So Liva Gabby, but gabby's out for the season, you'd think maybe Timber and or Ben White might fill the other center back position and then you keep one of them wide. Ben White, obviously he's been dealing with like little injuries that's kept him out most of the season. He was out this weekend against Fullham because I think he had a day-to-day tweak, which is why they kept him out. Jury and timber picked up a knee knock in the 15th. He had to get subbed in the 70th yeah. Yeah before, I was gonna say maybe Boca Osaka against that Madrid back line might be what's decisive, but if I'm Madrid, I think, your eyes get a little bit wider'cause you can just kind of like focus on your attack. Should be a fun matchup.

Jerrell:

The corners get weaker.

Will:

back then arsenal's struggling to get goes, but they're getting some pieces back. But now those injuries in the back,

Jerrell:

No sock.

Will:

Gabby. Yeah, you lose your Gabby saliva pairing and things start looking a little bit more leakier. You might be focused on, you might be having Jacob Kiwi or playing meds. He hasn't played a lot this season. First game is at the Emirates, and then second leg will be in the Bene Bayo. So yeah. Who you got? What you guys, what are you guys looking for in this one?

Jerrell:

Arsenal, of course. Gotta gotta support the Premier League side.

Christian:

I think I have more. I definitely have more Madrid jerseys than I have Arsenal jerseys. So I'm gonna go with Madrid

Jerrell:

The jersey? The Jersey count?

Will:

on,

Christian:

on Bro All Madrid.

Will:

I can't, I can't wait for the post game thing between TT and things. It's just yeah. When we looked at what was decisive in this one. Here's Christian's Co. Christian's closet right here, circle here, zoom in. Two arsenal jerseys there, circle here. Four Madrid jerseys. And really when it came down to it late, that really decided the fixture. Yeah.

Jerrell:

It makes sense to me.

Will:

back

Christian:

Yeah.

Will:

Kate. Yeah.

Christian:

Madrid has been wishy washy the last few games. I in this weekend we had a semis where we went. We won five four on aggregate in extra time. It's just, I haven't, it, it's, no game. Feels like a lock. This year with, with Madrid we're outta contention. I'm pretty sure we're bar is gonna take the. The, the league on that one.

Will:

Point difference. Relax

Christian:

I don't, I I'm not feeling it, bro. When I watched him play it, it doesn't give,

Will:

It is about to be June 3rd. They're gonna be in position for a trouble. When Christians' gonna say, I was never worried. I can't fucking wait. I can't

Christian:

Ooh,

Will:

wait.

Jerrell:

That's gonna

Christian:

I'm consistent, bro. I'm consistent.

Jerrell:

day.

Christian:

Oh, oh yeah.

Jerrell:

Special up.

Christian:

I have enough mare jerseys for all of us.

Will:

yeah, I'd definitely be sick. You realize when to hear from me all

Jerrell:

We'll even have one for the intern.

Will:

I continue to be demoted.

Jerrell:

Byron and enter that's, that one actually will be pretty interesting. I don't know much about either club. I did watch that YouTube video on enter and like their total football mentality and how they play. It's been fun to watch Enter, I think it was only conceited two goals in all of Champions league play. Byron,

Will:

think, was it one or two? I'm

Jerrell:

I think they conceded a second one in the last leg.

Will:

ah, you you're right.

Jerrell:

Cool.

Will:

carry on. Sorry.

Jerrell:

Now you're good. and yeah. But I'm leaning, I'm leaning into, they're like a dark horse. At least on the podcast, we're not talking about them. Even the entire Champions League runup, we just default to whoever's in Premier League grew on Madrid and Barcelona, which is fine, but.

Will:

dabbled in, enter a little bit. I think we've called them like, like they could be front runners a couple times. You yelled at me in one of the pos, you're like, I said that shit last week, qui. So we talked, we've dabbled,

Jerrell:

yeah, but the majority, the majority hasn't believed.

Will:

It's definitely gonna be enters probably biggest test of their UCL qualification. Their biggest win really was against Arsenal. They were able to win one oh against them early on, in the tournament. Their last round of games that they had. They were able to get a win over Phi Nord. Not necessarily like the toughest matchup, no disrespect to Phi Nord.

Jerrell:

Hi there, you.

Will:

definitely gonna be their biggest challenge. I think the key proponent for me, really realistically is just gonna be vis be the best strike they've seen since they played Erling Holland in September before Man City took a nose dive. So I think Harry Kay's gonna be just what I'm watching in this one to see if he's able to challenge that bass back line. And how they switched their midfield and center backs along with his like link out play and just a havoc he's able to cause. Definitely a fun tie. Historically, I wanna say Byron, but definitely excited to see how this one goes. I think they're playing at the Allianz for the first, like that game is on Tuesday as well.

Jerrell:

Yes. Yeah. Arsenal, Madrid and Byron enter are both April 8th, Tuesday, like you said. Do we have a time for that? 2 45, I think.

Will:

around three.

Jerrell:

Three. Okay, cool.

Will:

time, so like a evening time in, euros. So late night.

Jerrell:

A team that's really well is PSG and PSG has made it to the quarterfinals and they're against Ashton Villa, who time in the Champions League in a while ever. I don't know Ashton Villa's history with the Champions League, but here they are in the quarterfinals too.

Christian:

It's gonna be a really interesting game to watch for me. PSG has been had, has had a very solid, center field throughout this tournament, and you got Villa with their signing. It's, it is gonna be a, a fun, fun game to watch. I think PS G's gonna take it. You can't get past all that money. PS G's gonna make it pretty far, but ultimately probably fail because you can't buy trophies.

Jerrell:

I think we'll have something to say to that.

Will:

S why can't you just say they're gonna w win? You can't. I get his blood. You support Ray Madrid, bro. Y'all's, payroll's 700 mil.

Jerrell:

He's.

Will:

you can't talk about all that fucking, that's crazy.

Christian:

The, the difference is. We, we scout them from, from the favelas while PSG just just buys them as soon as it start getting hot for a crazy amount of money.

Will:

I feel like a lot of their team building has been relatively practical versus I feel like no, we don't have to do it. PSG been honestly probably like the hottest team this year as, as far as UCL competition. They were able to destroy breast and their playoff phase matchup, obviously notable, able to get a victory against Liverpool. Liverpool's probably been the most consistent and best team in Europe. Over the duration of the season, they're able to get the end upset at Anfield. Yeah, I'm leaning PSG just off the strength of their attack. Bradley Barla Lu Elli Kel and their midfield, Vinia,

Christian:

really nice.

Will:

All playing really well currently for them. So it's. It's possible, you have Ali Watkins up high and Villas has been able to get like some good results here and there, but it's hard to predict them beating PSG over both ties, especially when they struggled a little bit with Club Rug. They were able to get some late goals in that first time that kind of set it, but they didn't really boss I felt like PSG even though they weren't getting their goals. I thought they were able to like more or less dominate the first leg, at least at home and play relatively even at Anfield. So I'm gonna go PSG as well on this one.

Jerrell:

And last but not least, Barcelona v Doman. Also on Wednesday. April 9th run, three o'clock time slot as well. Doman struggled, fired their manager, and here they're on the quarterfinals trying to make a, a repeat run into the finals once again. Are you guys surprised that Dot Man's here is Silence speaks volumes, so I'll take that as a yes.

Will:

I no, they made it to a final last year, right? So sometimes when it comes to these formats, it's just about, a little bit of luck a little bit. It being able to get a

Jerrell:

Sitting 10th and Bunes League, by the way

Will:

fucking villa's sitting ninth and they just moved up a spot, I believe.

Jerrell:

Seventh.

Will:

deeper. They were, they made a final last year is all I'm gonna say.

Christian:

Yeah.

Will:

players there who have done it. mean. Quarterfinals. I think this has been a good run for them. I'm not saying they're definitively done. They played Barcelona during the group, the group phase earlier in the year, and that was a late comeback victory from Barcelona three, two. And you never know what day you can do once you get home. I think they have to survive that home leg in Barcelona and try to figure out a solution for dealing with poverty and obviously the wingers and the press that highline that they're dealing with. But, we'll see what they, what, what, what they're able to do. I really, I think the X factor in it is gonna be ping, just a havoc he causes in midfield on both ends and is his being able to, being able to be the connective tissue between that back line the frontline forwards. But, and at the same time, Barcelona is also dealing with just I think they're gonna have two, three days last after they played like three games over like the last five or six days. So you never know how fatigue might randomly, you come up flat on a ra on a bad day, on a, European Tuesday or Wednesday. Something weird could happen. But I'm gonna go Barcelona. Not because of the number of jerseys I have, but just because I think they've been a better team throughout the majority of the

Jerrell:

But

Christian:

many Doman jerseys do you have?

Will:

Yeah, I wanted the dotting jerseys back in 2013, the all black ones. Those were clean

Christian:

Those are nice. Yeah. I didn't like last year's Yellow jerseys. I wanted to buy the Marco Rose edition, but I wasn't a fan of the, the design.

Jerrell:

As expected, the quarterfinals have great matchups, and honestly, there's not. Who do I have, I have Barcelona, man.

Will:

Oh, okay.

Jerrell:

Yeah.

Will:

need to hear it.

Jerrell:

Oh.

Will:

make sure that my ops aren't, aren't staying close to me and shit.

Jerrell:

But not a bad matchup. Can't go wrong with any of these if you sit down and you wanna watch. Really exciting. Really exciting. But which one will you be watching?

Will:

all of the above.

Jerrell:

Oh, bear

Will:

of the

Jerrell:

on the, on the Glosso. Are they gonna run the glosso for the, for two games.

Will:

think they said that they're done after the

Jerrell:

okay.

Will:

one I listened to, and that made

Jerrell:

So you're, you're actually gonna have to pick one or flip between the two.

Will:

A multi-screen.

Jerrell:

Ooh.

Will:

Yeah. We'll see how UCL goes. We'll dive into a little bit more next week when we have some results and we can call each other's call each other wrong. After all our picks go sideways.

Jerrell:

Yeah. And our listeners can call us wrong too, as they tell us that they bet against us and they made thousands of dollars.

Will:

And you can let us know that on our socials, we're on Twitter football Fellows. You can email us

Christian:

Bang.

Will:

fellows@gmail.com. Instagram, the Football Fellows. We have, I said, blue Sky, you to mosquito us at Blue Sky.

Jerrell:

Excuse me.

Will:

also

Christian:

Yeah. What was that?

Will:

We also have a website at. H well fellas dot bus sprout.com where you'll see the collection of all of our perfect episodes. 10 out of 10 each episode, perfect rating and other stuff that would be added eventually when Darrell starts writing for us, because that's what he'll do for his internship

Jerrell:

Yep, yep. The summer internships come, comes pretty quick.

Will:

this is, I chat GPC, it's gonna be crazy.

Jerrell:

I've already got the templates.

Will:

Other things going on in the league. I just wanted to shout out. Third tier in Germany, Armenia, Bela Feld they make it to the Po Cal final. They got a, got a win over by Lever. Houston beating them two. One came back from a one oh deficit. So they're be, they beat the Po Cal Cup holders. They're gonna face Stuttgart in a final on May 24th. So I will be watching that game because they're from the third tier of the Bundes League and I have a chance to do something really special. Outside of that. The race war is back Christian Copa del Re, final April 26th. God, I fucking hate you guys. I

Christian:

Oh fuck. Why is it every time there's a,

Will:

ha.

Christian:

I'm not here.

Will:

Plastic. Ha Fake friend. Fake fan every time. It was Taylor Swift last time and Kendrick Lamar. This time you basic bitch.

Christian:

I'm gonna watch the game, the concert's on the 27th, but I'm saying we won't be able to watch it together in silence.

Will:

the best.

Christian:

No, no, no, bro. We did it once we, we,

Will:

think the last two times I watch a Classico with you, we lost, and every time I don't watch a classico with you, we beat that ass.

Christian:

we.

Will:

Yeah,

Christian:

A tie

Will:

so you just catch me stressed April 26th. So we'll have that matchup two weeks before the La Liga matchup. And depending on how the, how this UCL season goes, you might have another date June 1st, so we'll see. So yeah,

Jerrell:

In Germany.

Will:

two things out. Barcelona four, four. Tie in their first leg against Athletic Madrid. Win a tough win. Oh tie at the Wado Metro Ano on Wednesday. Rail Madrid. I think you guys won your first two, one, right? And then you won an extra tie. Four three behind. Who else? Antonio Rudiger a hundred 15th minute goal.'cause why the fuck not

Jerrell:

Sure.

Will:

8 31 Preview Jarrell. You wanna give it to us?

Jerrell:

Yeah, I'll give it to you. have Everton verse artist.

Will:

Jerry's gonna give it to you. He's gonna give it to you.

Christian:

That's crazy. He's I'll do it again.

Jerrell:

Watch me. We got Everton verse Arsenal, crystal Palace and Brighton Ipswich and Wolves, Westham. And the cherries. Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest. Brentford. Chelsea Fullham verse, Liverpool Spurs, take on Southampton Manchester, United Verse, Manchester City and the Manchester Derby and Lester City. Verse Newcastle. Give me the derby. Yep. Yeah, the Derby. We also have another derby, the London Derby, Brentford and Chelsea. But I'm want the Manchester Derby.

Will:

Spurs have a chance to do the funniest thing. I feel like I say that every week They lose the Southampton, Southampton safe. I'm

Jerrell:

I was gonna say Southampton could do the funniest thing by winning, but no, we're on the same page, just different teams.

Will:

yeah. We're here. I'm just in a Spurs lens where I was just like, I can't trust them even though they have a positive goal differential. Outside of that Tractor Boys, is Christian's game Christian. What you got? How do you see it going?

Jerrell:

Christian's got one hand on the back of the

Christian:

It's gonna be three. One Tractor boys.

Will:

the back of his back, he supported it.

Christian:

Three

Will:

You said

Christian:

boys.

Will:

Three. One.

Christian:

I'm feeling it. I'm feeling it. I probably won't be able to watch any of these games'cause I'm gonna do a staycation at evermore this weekend.

Will:

You Say Hey, I can't wait to

Jerrell:

You don't, don't

Will:

of the

Jerrell:

yourself.

Will:

you don't. Also, yeah, you don't have to tell us that you're not doing your homework, bro. It's all good. Don't trip.

Christian:

I'm gonna be a little busy this weekend, but I'll catch the recaps and I'm, and I'm gonna see the recap of Ipswich scoring three goals, three tractor goals against the itty bitty wolves.

Jerrell:

I am clipping this audio so I can play it next episode.

Will:

Oh yeah. Start the next episode with it. Yeah, the itty bitty wolves. We're not gonna do any things like, it's just gonna be like, so Christian, tell us about what happened last weekend. if you tell me about your personal wife instead of leading off with that game, I might go fight you. I'm not that far anymore. I another fun game to watch Aston Villa versus Nottingham. Two teams with Europe dreams of Europe going on, Nottingham looking safer, but obviously you wanna keep the momentum going. Aston Villa big win last week against Brighton. Able to jump them in the order of the table, but needing a little bit of help, a little bit of work to a little bit higher on the table. So excited to see

Jerrell:

man. They just won the FA cup and they're in, they're fine.

Will:

I'm gonna come next week. I'm gonna have a full breakdown on which each of these cups mean to everyone.

Christian:

I'll repeat it at the end of the episode.

Will:

Oh, of course

Christian:

Yeah.

Will:

gonna read it verbatim. I'm gonna love

Christian:

Huh? Huh? I'm gonna call my source and my source. You.

Will:

That'll be like some fuck dude. Outside of that Crystal Palace Brighten should be fun. Everton Arsenal, not an easy game at all. For Arsenal. They historically struggle at Goodes, in part.

Jerrell:

Their last, their last trip to Goodison Park

Will:

Yes, sir. Yes, sir. Because they're gonna open up a new

Jerrell:

'cause Good is

Will:

next

Jerrell:

going

Christian:

It park.

Will:

Good as son. Christians is better. is better. I would say more like good as buns or something, but bad as soon is it's, it's better. You guys are playing at home, Brentford being the blues. Gerald Got lost on the road. Does that flip

Jerrell:

maybe, I don't know. Now we're in like, we're like in

Christian:

chance.

Jerrell:

now.

Will:

conflicted?

Jerrell:

Yeah. It's, it's very conflicted. Chelsea. Didn't I expected Chelsea to do more against the Spurs today. I still think they're trying to find their goals again. It. It might be closer than you think, and Bright Brentford might be able to get another home Victory,

Will:

And,

Jerrell:

Benford's gonna win.

Will:

there it is and no else is gonna win. Fullham please, Fullham come through. I just want a little bit of

Jerrell:

The margins are so slim.

Will:

The, they need 13 points in their last eight games to get it done.

Jerrell:

hear that.

Will:

Liverpool currently, so magic number is 86 Arsenal. If they went out, we'll hit 85. They only need 13 right now is where we're at. So Fullham come through this weekend. You're at home CRS cottage. Y'all ain't no bitch, right? ESR Masterclass upcoming.

Jerrell:

We'll see. Yeah,

Will:

Jerrell:

Run has just been incredible up to this point, one loss on the entire season. I'm trying to jinx it so it, I hope it works. I hope they get their second L

Will:

Hold it. it.

Jerrell:

oh. Please, please.

Will:

Jerrell:
