Will:

The podcast that no one asked for.

Christian:

of the football My name is Christian, his name is William.

Will:

Hello. I was waiting to see, I was like, I was like, was I supposed to say something for you or,

Christian:

They're just like, and this is Will and Jarre is living his best life. Jarrell

Will:

He's celebrating some results from midweek,

Christian:

I don't know what you're talking about.

Will:

Hmm. Well soon you'll, soon you'll, that that's, that's my favorite part about it.

Christian:

A lot of Happened in the last week. We are here to

Will:

Per huge,

Christian:

Match State 32 with some, I think there was two extra games that were played, some makeup games that were played

Will:

We had mm-hmm.

Christian:

Mm-hmm. And some things happen in a smaller a

Will:

Smaller competition.

Christian:

a UCL. It's,

Will:

Yeah.

Christian:

know, it hasn't been the same sim became the Super league or whatever,

Will:

We have to start off in the, the conference league the fixtures that everyone was watching this weekend actually. So

Christian:

Also, I'm pretty sure as I was writing my notes, I jinxed the fuck outta menu, but we'll get to that.

Will:

you, you came through for Ipswich

Christian:

Yeah.

Will:

A little bit. A little bit. We're on socials the Football Fellows. We're on Twitter slash x if you're into that blue Sky where we send off our skeets Instagram. Christian, anything else you want to touch on before we get to going? And they aren't

Christian:

Okay. Just.

Will:

they, so it's so like TWI Twitter tweets, right? So it's like blue sky skeets skits, skeets. Where's I was supposed to never acknowledge it. So matched 8 32 over the weekend. We'll start there. Man City Crystal Palace, crystal Palace went up two oh. Early on it looked like Man City's season was coming to an end. Maybe they were gonna miss zero, and then they went five and answered, didn't won five two. Kevin, Deb Broin had a goal and to assist as.

Christian:

sorry. He really said this is what you're gonna miss

Will:

Oh, I thought you're gonna be like he said Debo or, but yeah. Not good. Brian versus Ceer City. Where's drill to keep us on track? Brian versus Ceer City ended up in a two two draw Lior score, the first legal since January 26th, and they were down twice and they were able to get a goal against Brighton. Maybe sending Brighton out of. A chance that Champions League, it looks like Nottingham Forest loses zero one. We

Christian:

season.

Will:

mm we're gonna do each and every single one. Nottingham Forest. Oh, I'm so sorry. I am so sorry. I'm so sorry. Since we said they're probably good, it's, it's less than good now. Nine him forests loses at home. Zero one. To a fourth minute of injury time at the end of the game. Winner from Abdule. As Everton picks up the three points ruining it, it's getting scary for, for force, they just dropped out of third. So Southampton versus Villa ends in oh three. Ali Watkins was able to break the deadlock in the 73rd, and then it just, it just got all bad. It just got all bad. Three, nothing over there. Arsenal, Brentford I've seen the script before. Ann's in a one, one tie nor guard in the first half. I think he almost broke Martinelli's leg. Got a, got a orange card for sure, but ends in a one, one tie after trading goals in the second half. Chelsea Ipswich, Ipswich went up where? They were up to nothing and I was just like, Hey, it means something to us. Damn it. And then they blew it. But two, two result at Stanford Bridge, able to pick up a point. Liverpool Westham. Goddammit, Liverpool. Randy, Andy Robertson had a own goal in the 86th minute. Roger Van Dyke signs a new contract, finds a winner in the 89th with that result and Arsenal as a result, we are now at six points. Tolin, the league. The magic number is six. For Liverpool, they need just two wins. And their next six to clinch the league. That's pretty much been theirs all season. They're gonna, they're gonna lose it at them. Someone play that blue show w wolves tying him and four two sprays lose their 17th game of the season. Yeah, spurs continue to spur Newcastle United. Manchester. United ends four, one with three second half goals from Newcastle. They move on to third with their later result on Wednesday. Mout Fullham was the Monday game. Antoine Emanuel, he scored in the first minute and that was the only goal of the game. Mout wins three and they get their first one in eight games in the in the league. And then our Wednesday game, the replay, we had Newcastle, crystal Palace. Ended five, nothing. As Crystal Powell has just got their head dribbled off the pavement like a basketball, repeatedly, repeatedly, repeatedly Newcastle. Now, ever since I should, I tried to talk shit about them. I've been on a hot streak there now, sitting at third on the table.

Christian:

Since CP Crystal Palace has played twice since the last time we talked. What the fuck happened? They were on a solid run. I think they, they've won a, I had it written down, but I lost it. But they've been in a solid run and they started the Man city game with that confidence,

Will:

Yeah. Yeah. It.

Christian:

then the first instance of the, the new offsite technology took away their third goal. And you can just see, as soon as that was on KDB said, here's my beautiful free kick. Marmo tied it before the half ended. CP just just went downhill from there.

Will:

Yeah, yeah, they, they were definitely, they were definitely shooken up giving up 10 goals and two match days. Not ideal, ideal for them. They're obviously safe. They should, they should Five goal, Hey, it's a ballsy strategy, giving up five goals a game. But yeah, it definitely hurts. They had two road games against two teams that are in position for UCL. UCL places this year, obviously man city, not the same form, we've touched on that, but right as soon as they're on a good shake, we'll call it a bad week, we'll call it a bad week. Couple tough fixtures back to back, but they'll wanna go ahead and purge it as they head next week. I think they have a home tie against burn myth, if I remember correctly from our little outline why sensor city scores two goals, good for them. Hadn't scored in a while. We talked last week where it's just Hey, be bad. That's fine, but at least gimme something to celebrate. They got two goals. They're 17 points out of, out of freedom from the allegation zone. They might be confirmed, yeah, next week. But at least they got a couple goals. Wish, wish'em the best going forward, but that loss was huge for Brighton. Brighton. I think they're currently sitting in eighth. Don't quote me on that.

Christian:

I won't will.

Will:

10th.

Christian:

Brian is in 10th place. Yeah, they eight through 10 is tied at 48.

Will:

I faded them. I faded that whole section when we're gonna touch on like our power ranking shortly and just how wrong we were started this season. But I faded that whole section. I was like six points out with six games left to go. I don't, I don't think they're gonna make it to a champions league. Maybe Europe I guess, but not looking good for any of those teams right now. 10th place. Oh no, you're my schedule guy. Shitty pot town.

Christian:

see. They got the Bees, Westham, Newcastle, wolves, Liverpool, Tottenham, not great a little bit. They, they have some ups and downs in there, but yeah, I don't, I, I, I think them,

Will:

It is just realistically, it's out of the teams that are in those places, who do you see them jumping off, jumping over? I'm just kind of like, Nottingham Forest is clear. Nine points right now. I think they're gonna have a struggle in their running rest the rest of the season with like how their form's been, just fading and just how tight that area is. Three team, what Villa Sitting in seventh. Three points back of Nottingham and then Chelsea, Mann city Chelsea, three points, city, two points. But I don't know if for is gonna be able to hand out, but they should still get Europe at the very least yeah, we'll, we'll touch that on that more in the, in the, in the runup. But just ever since we were like, yeah, they're good. Oh yeah. We believe it's been the opposite. It's been the opposite, unfortunately.

Christian:

team, I'm sorry.

Will:

I guess we'll touch on it a bit, but, so Arsenal another one, one tie arsenal. This season, they've dropped 16 points from winning positions this season, which is crazy. So last two seasons, they,

Christian:

12 ties.

Will:

it's.

Christian:

would've just scored one extra goal in six of those games, it would've been a different topic. fucking Liverpool wouldn't be on cruise control right now. We'd have something to play for. Here we are

Will:

Yeah.

Christian:

yet again.

Will:

Hey, hey, but we're, we're building something. Week by week, showing a lot of control in their games and just, need a little bit more firepower on a week to week, a little bit more death. But we've touched on Arsenal a lot throughout the season, so we won't, we won't drag on on it. I'm really fucking upset at Newcastle. So Newcastle drops nine goals in their two fixtures this week. Pretty much the reverse crystal palaces. I think ever since that Kara about tie, where I said, fuck the McAfees, they've just been climbing up the table. So in our power rank, actually since Match day 24.

Christian:

the mag pies, we just hate their owners.

Will:

That we can't score on them

Christian:

That's fair. A quick touch on Newcastle good vibes, wanna send some shout out over to Eddie, how he's sideline. I think he well officially got

Will:

Hmm.

Christian:

pneumonia,

Will:

Pneumonia. Yeah.

Christian:

you know that silent PB killing everybody, in spelling bees and in the hospital, bro.

Will:

That silent P is crazy. I've never heard that before. I didn't like that. No. Yeah. But Hope Petty is okay. Yeah. He's dealing with pneumonia there, but they continue to find, find results and they look like they're in the driver's seat for some UCL qualification. Heading back to back to Europe, it looks like with that extra spot especially,

Christian:

we're still on New Castle. Can we talk about Barnes? He's been on a fucking tear. Barnes I think he scored two goals in the game against Manchester United In the last five games. He has four goals. One assist like he's. Been fucking killing it for Newcastle,

Will:

Yeah, I mean their, the, their biggest knock was just like, oh, where are they gonna find goals from outside of Esoc? And now they're just finding them from all over. And they're usually just a very, like the solid defensive team is where they hang their hat. So now that they're adding goals heading into the end of their season, and you expect maybe some investment, especially. If someone ends up trying to pay their 150 million pound of price tag that they have on Alexander Esoc this summer some further investment on the team. And regardless of what, they'll probably be strengthened up regardless with the prospect of Europe. Again, but yeah, Newcastle United. I'm sorry for all the shit I talked. I should have done it. Congratulations on all your golden shelter to Barnes Harvey. Barnes as well. Christian's Player of the Week. So that was the Newcastle Corner. Fuck em, fuck em. Oh, good for them. Congratulations,

Christian:

they have I mean they have good players that have been linked, like Esoc has been linked to lead Newcastle for. Fucking ever. But with what they have going on right now, they have a chance to put in in the champions next week. I think they, they won a trophy this season, right?

Will:

Karabell.

Christian:

Yeah. They wanna care about this season. Like why leave? You're probably already getting all that oil money. So isn't an

Will:

We, we don't, okay. No. Yeah, I don't think it's, I don't think it's necessarily'cause he's still tied up contractually for a while, so that's why Newcastle is just yeah, if you want him pay 150 million, you're seeing a lot of crazy valuations. It is only April and that will change like Southampton, I think for Tyler ing there. When you're there, they put a hundred mil on him. As they're about to be relegated, which is crazy'cause if he wants Europe, you, a lot of teams will have relegation clauses. Liam lop for Ipswich despite, is his name Liam? Yes. I'm gonna try. Yeah. I'm gonna trust my tractor. Boy I, hot commodity linked with Manchester United, Chelsea, pretty much half of the Premier League.'cause that relegation clause has, he's been a very solid striker. It's looking he will be moved on. I think his relegation clause is at like 30 million pounds for what's been like a very solid striker. Chelsea's heavily linked as someone to pair up with Nico Jackson, so they can play off of each other with how Christopher and Kuku hasn't really come off since he made the switch from Leipzig. They, I think the rumors right now is that they're in pole position to sign them with what money they have considering PSR, and I think they just sold their women's team to themselves somehow. I have to look into that more. But yeah, I don't understand that accounting magic, but I'm a bar fan, so I should know more. I But yeah, considering, considering that Chelsea looks like they're gonna be putting more investment, Liam op is gonna probably like the hot strike here to pay attention to outside of Esoc. Gil Re as well as in sporting and motherfucking that other nun, Benjamin Sesco, thank you, from Leipzig as well as he rumored to be available as well. But I think Leipzig also wants crazy money for him. So yeah, transfer window, actually transfer window will locked in his closet. Just reading news, aggregating news that that'll be in July, so we'll worry about that later.

Christian:

Yeah, that's when you gotta fucking help bond on the psychedelics to keep up.

Will:

Oh, yeah. Yeah. Just me shaking all the time. Coffee, red Bull. Fucking,

Christian:

But you have, we have an intern now that can take care of all that.

Will:

I'm the intern. I'm the intern. So it's oh. Yeah. That's not that's Patricia. Do you wanna, do you wanna do it in the order that came, or do you want to, do you wanna just rip the bandaid off as we dive into our next section?

Christian:

UCL.

Will:

Mm-hmm.

Christian:

It is what it is.

Will:

Yes.

Christian:

right. Arsenals defense proved to be too much to handle for raw madre. They. One, the second game, two, one. It was game. It was a fun game to watch, but you, you just see, just arsenals defense is just top notch even with even with the missing Gabi.

Will:

Yeah. Yeah, shout out. I had never had a doubt about Yako yeah, early on it looked like Madrid. I, I felt actually for the most part it was a very physical huff. I'd say, I don't think Madrid really had answers to Yeah, the Arsenal defense and you saw it in pocket. Early on, I guess talking about the game. Both teams were like very scrappy, especially the first half there was that penalty that was given off of a free kick. What are your thoughts on that, by the way? Because it's funny'cause that mirrored like one of my own traumas from like a Classico.

Christian:

I will say from a slightly unbiased view,'cause I am a mar I am a Madrid fan first, but I am also an an Arsenal fan if the viewers haven't noticed yet. Both calls were soft as shit. So I didn't like either call for a penalty. The first one had nothing to do with the play. COIs had the ball in his hands. It was away from action. It was very soft, just wrapped around the second penalty. Pretty much the same thing. They just called it as an offside. On.

Will:

the second one yeah, we'll touch on it. So for me, as someone who's seen it before, it definitely is one of those that's just it felt oh, call on field. I thought it was a bit soft'cause you see it. But when you look at it as well, Racio did have a grip was pulling at Marino. I don't think it's a chance you'd necessarily want to take. In field, but it's also just if you pull and grab him down right. Prior to it, it ended up being on Kurtis. But I don't, that's one of those things where it's just while it happens, it's something by letter of the law, I feel it can be caught.'cause there's also the pull from Asencio. Marino was trying to knock his arms away. But you can see like where sensei like. Pretty much had him wrapped like it was a good form tackle essentially. And it reminds me of what was it I forgot which, I think it was a 2021 Classico Sergio Ramos in one of his last years where it was similar situation where corner was taken from Madrid. I think PK had like a grip of his jersey or something like that. And it was funny because the force of where the pull would take him or almost went the opposite direction. They called a, they called him penalty. I was like, Christian, that's soft. He was like, bro, you can't grab him, bro. You can't grab him. I was just like, okay. Ball didn't lie. Saka, I was really worried he took up an Inca. I don't think he hit it the way he wanted to. It took a lot of buzz for him to do it. It really felt like that could be like almost like the proverbial. Tinder that lights the matchbox or something like that. But after that you really expected Madrid to come up with something and they weren't really dangerous throughout the majority of the game. Later on, I think it was like 12 minutes later, there was a penalty shout where there was a corner, there was a free kick taken, and then Rice had his arms like wrapped around and Boppy kind of like holding him or whatnot. I thought that was soft'cause it would, I think. If it was by itself and I was worried that was gonna be a get right call too, where the rest was like, oh, we gave the other one over there, we might as well do it. So them overturning it. I wasn't sure if they do it, but for me, I didn't. I thought that was less egregious than the sensio just'cause the sensei, you could see'em like running with them. It ended up. But IMB Mbae, literally, if MB Mbae wanted to go for the ball, he would've, I think he saw it was too far out. And then even prior to the buildup to that, there was like two, three instances. Vinny had one, I forgot the other player, where a player, it looked like they were like chasing. A call almost where it's just like where it's just like I know these guys and I know how they play, especially when they're up and their legs were giving out. So there's three or four instances leading up to that goal where I felt like it was just kind of like, oh, we're gonna get a call to spark this comeback. It almost felt

Christian:

there was one where. Vinny on a cutback party, just fucking checked him on the cutback. Vinny, I think, I think where Vinny fucked up, I think Vinny sold it too much like he did the whole, if Vinny would've continued playing for the ball party, did not go for the ball at all. Vinny just hit his, his classic cutback and then party just dropped his shoulder into his chest and I was

Will:

So that's same thing where it's just if you could call it or whatnot, but then on the flip side, Ru was on a fucking journey, this game, and Tony Ru, I'm used to'em. But it really felt a lot of Madrid, they, I felt like there's a lot of like talk above the ramada. And hey, if any team's gonna do the comeback or it's gonna happen, but it's just like they couldn't find any answers over both blankets, I'd say, which is like honestly a testament to Arsal and what they were able to do. Skelly had a great game. His dribbles up into midfield from his left back position. Just kind of like if I'm an 18-year-old in a burn, in the burn bayo and don't care how much soccer I've played, if I see oh, I can score a pass to someone else, even if there's field in front of me, I'm probably gonna let it go. But you saw like a lot of bravery from from the gunners. And they were able to eke out their goals and key moments. Sakas goal second half was beautiful.

Christian:

was

Will:

And it just, you saw, we've talked about it, so a little bit on the pod and a little bit after. It's just kinda there's some balance issues with Madrid and a lot of those players that, or for all that talk of comebacks, there was also different personality and different pieces on that team previously who did do it. So while yes, of course you wanna speak it up, I thought Arsenal coming into it, I was waiting to see if oh, if anyone would have nerves and even past that. Aka the chip chip goal he had from a beautiful outlay from Marino. Beautiful pass. You, they were playing with confidence throughout. They weren't really worried outside of Saliba who after Saka got his goal, Saliba, it felt like my Rolls Royce caught a flat or something.'cause I've never seen him do that. I think that was his worst mistake of the season. Then he was able to get a goal and then, you're worried that with 30 minutes left, oh, maybe this will spark the comeback, even though there's still three down. But there was just no answers. It felt and you, I feel like you saw that frustration a lot with, with Vinny and Bape be Bellingham a lot. As well, he had some strong TA tackles with rights. But Antonio Rooter, the fact that he got caught a yellow in the 85th was fucking wild to me.'cause he was just throwing guys down. He stepped on Skelly at some point,

Christian:

He would throw people down and be like, oh shit, my bad bro. My bad, bro.

Will:

He literally stepped on Skelly and it's just like one of those things where like it looked like, yeah, okay. Momentum oh, okay. That's just where I, but he definitely didn't even try to move where he landed either. Yeah. But all in all for Arsenal in a season where, league hasn't gone exactly what they want, but when you look at the players that they're missing, no K Fre, no Gabriel no Cabrio, Jesus, no Kai haves. All these pieces missing throughout the majority of the season for them to go into Madrid. Over two legs and just they do it's not me talking shit. They dominated over both ties. The first high went as good well as it can, and the way they were able to control Madrid in the second leg, it did the framework's there for what they have to do.

Christian:

Yeah the emergencies of the two back and MLS like you already

Will:

Jerry and Timber had a fantastic game. Yeah.

Christian:

game. Like the, you, you already have you can argue like the top two center backs in the world as far as

Will:

Yeah.

Christian:

one, two for the same team. Now you have these up and coming youngsters that just finished that, that back line. And who's who, who do you have backing up? Kali Fiori, like arsenal's back line is it's right now the best in the world. Just, and, and it proves so against Madrid. Madrid has fast, big name players who haven't. This, this is the first time this is the best defense Madrid has faced all season. I can't think of any other team that has, that has that kind of defense that can keep them up, up. Barcelona plays Grace against Madrid, but it's just because they, they create so many chances and that high line.

Will:

Oh yeah. Barcelona thrives in the chaos for sure.

Christian:

yeah. High Line Barcelona plays, it's, it's, it's susceptible for Speedsters, Vinny, Rodrigo, and Bapi to get passed. You, but Barcelona creates so much that they don't have to fucking worry about that as much. Where the arsenal

Will:

Also, they're high line, so well organized that it's just let them get behind. It's cool. It's outside. So yeah.

Christian:

and then it's just like Arsenal has, arsenal's back four is just, is is just amazing.

Will:

And it's something that we touched on was it like, I don't think it was last spot, maybe the one before where it's just like looking at Arsenal season and everyone's gonna joke about, oh yeah, second place. Oh, they haven't won anything. It's just like they're in every game. Yeah, they're missing a little bit of punch up front, but it's just like this competition right now. It just really shows just that our TE project, and I think people like to thrive on just kind of like, oh, our teddy ball is broken, blah, blah, blah. I don't think those conversations are in good faith, but it's just they're competing every year and probably the most competitive league in Europe, and they're now last year, quarter finals, they got bounced by Byron on one goal, and now they're in the semis looking for a chance to get their first birth in a final since oh six and their first semifinals since oh nine. And that's considering where they were in the Vanger years after like kind of the tail end of there, where it's like maybe they weren't the worst team necessarily, but they seemed so far from a night like Wednesday was. And just play, players being able to perform from all over the field. Yeah, I'm sure we'll touch on Madrid more. After as we go through the season, a couple of class equals still left to go. We were invested in that league and whatnot. But yeah, this is a huge result for Arsenal. On flip side I guess we'll start with Wednesday and then we'll work our way back to Tuesday where the juice was. Byron enter, ended up two two at the San Zero. As enter are able to hold on and they move on to the semis, they got a, they were able to score on the other side of, I think Harry Kane was able to get a goal in the 52nd minute and then they fired back with goals from, was it,

Christian:

and within four minutes,

Will:

yeah. Benjamin Pavar scoring on his old team. Yeah. Yeah. Byron was able to get one late from Eric Diad, if I remember correctly, but enter able to hold on, enter I think they had given up two goals in the whole competition leading up into this one, I think Mueller touched on is like, Hey, they've been really solid. We were able to get two goals or whatnot, but them being able to hold on against the team, byron sons without Jamal Ava. They sorely missed him in this tie, but huge result for answer as they move back into the semi-finals. Last couple seasons, they've seen a good amount of success in the UCL.

Christian:

Quick little fun fact about me that was Oh, mil. Mil. A quick fact about in. I think they've only allowed one goal. They've only conceded one goal in all home matches this season, which is fucking insane.

Will:

That's wild.

Christian:

Yeah,

Will:

who has the best backlog in Europe? Actually, no. Yeah, that's, that's in, yeah. Fuck yeah.

Christian:

No, no. We'll still see. We'll see. We'll still see, uh uh, You have skin in the other game?

Will:

Yeah, we'll get there. We'll get there. So huge result for Minter. I didn't get to watch this one fully through. I saw bits and pieces highlights while I was sweating up that fucking Arsal Madrid game. But huge, huge, huge result considering facing Byron. Even at home, you could have easily folded and they'd just enter, continue to have responses against every team we play in. Once again probably me talking a little bit of shit. But one of the strongest defensives I did not know, they only gave up one, one goal at home all season. I'm fucking concerned. We also had on Tuesday that was supposed to be the ties that seemed mostly set. Will star with Barcelona'cause I was the one I was invested in that

Christian:

Real

Will:

yeah.

Christian:

moving on. Just quick facts about the Milan game. Mueller

Will:

Hit me with it.

Christian:

Mu Mueller ties Messi with 163 UCL appearances.

Will:

Shit.

Christian:

tied for third only behind Caja, my go, my Goalkeeping goat and Ronaldo,

Will:

Huh?

Christian:

and Lado scored five games in a row, is the freshman Intech player to do and for the UCL.

Will:

He's so good. I thought it was so good.

Christian:

the speaks of or last, last season, like he, he's been playing pretty, solid and he hasn't slowed down.

Will:

He. Especially he had a tough World Cup run when the, when Argentina was able to win it. Julian Alvarez really popped that. They, they, you're, you are a good Ben, but and he's always been like world class striker. But some question marks a rose around that tournament where he wasn't able to put his foot on it. He missed some easy chances, missing penalties, and that's when Julian Alvarez really kind of like emerged in the shadow of LoDo not being. Who they were expecting him to be throughout that tournament. He was able to get, but it's good to see him finding form and enter playing next to through over there as well. And enter, yeah, they have talent all over the field. Nico Lo, they have strong ESI and DRIs. Was it Bai who has a center back probably could get a shout for be as well with how their season's going. And if I remember correctly, I could be wrong. They might be up for a tre as well.

Christian:

Yeah.

Will:

Considering, so I think we have three troubles that we're, we're watching for actually as we enter the semis of this tournament. Spoiler being PS

Christian:

PSG?

Will:

and Bar. Yeah. PSG Villa had a, had a game at Villa Park. PSG were able to jump on early and they were up, I think five one at some point. And then Villa Stormed back. Villa was able to cut it down to five four on aggregate. Three, two result out their thing. Two goals in the span of two minutes in the 55th and 57th minute rash rate. Had a wonderful game as well. And PSG were able to hold on, on the road in a very at Villa Park in a road game when, honestly, I would've folded. I didn't talk about the stress of the bars, the game we'll get there just because of there's always like that two goal buffer, but 33 minutes on the road. Probably your worst game that you've had in the last few months. And you're able to hold on, get a result and clinch a spot in the semis. PSG, shout to them. I know we've touched on them. Christians joked about just, oh, they just acquire people. They have gone very young and they're, they're just strong all over the pitch. I think they're midfield might be their weakest point. Donald Rua has been, for the most part, solid. Throughout the tournament. But if I had to pick a space where maybe you can get at them a little bit and that's saying, not saying much, considering the, the talent they have in midfield, it might be there. But PSG arsenal is set for the semi-finals as PSG continues their strong run form. And for the trouble, I think they've already clutched their league. They're in their domestic cup final and then looking for their first, their first UCL. Going deeper than IMB Mbae after IMB Mbae left because he said, I'm trying to do UC and I saw this crazy commentary. It's just imagine if PSG wins and they're just like, Usman Elli in, in some areas of, of Paris might be a bigger legend than IMB Mbae in a sense. I was like, that's crazy to hear.'cause a year ago I'd be like, you're smoking crack.

Christian:

He is been having a crazy year. He won Men of the Match and I don't know if you saw the post match interview with Micah and Oh, I'm spacing on his name. was crazy because he was

Will:

Neville.

Christian:

no Neville. Yeah. But just unfortunately'cause topic, he was voted as like the least favorite out of the four. And that space

Will:

Oh really? Oh man.

Christian:

But yeah, I don't know if you saw the post match interview. He was not happy. There was videos of him not wanting to accept the award. He was like, yeah, we like, yeah, we're, we're advancing, but we had a shitty game. We shouldn't be playing like this. And then he talked shit to mic saying his suit was too tight. So that was

Will:

Damn.

Christian:

yeah, was

Will:

Yeah.

Christian:

you look pretty clean in that suit. And then Michael was like, what about us? And he was like, your shit's tight. So that

Will:

Damn. Damn. I'm about to not, not them. I'm insulting Big Meeks. Yeah. Yeah. From his Barcelona days, he was a little bit controversial with the way he addressed people, but, yeah, that actually marries what happened at Tand. Barcelona was able to get through on aggregate five three, but I think this was probably Barcelona's worst game of the season outside of maybe a oso heavily rotate oona result in October or December. I forgot. Doman gsi he was able to score a hat trick in this game throughout Barcelona. They, it was never within two, but they were just flat all over. They were trying to rotate some pieces out. Nia, I think, had the worst game of his. Of his season, yamal looked looked a little tired and Ed on his right side and Dottin, that atmosphere was just magical. It was like, I think coming into the tie, it was just like, Dottin maybe they're having obviously struggles in their, in the blueness Liga and they're not at the heights that we're used to seeing them in their German campaigns. But, you got the, you got a tight fixture in, in that atmosphere, anything can happen. And we were, we almost had a ramada to start, to start the UCL this week. This game was played on Tuesday. Ura, he was able to, he got a penalty in the 11th minute that he was able to convert. He had a kind of reminiscent of the Lewandowski header that was set up by Nia Beautiful corner, and right before it was taken out, I think it was Emrich Hun, I might be wrong, was able to just send it across Goal and Rasi just was like, I'm bigger, faster, stronger, and jump higher than you. And was able to tap it in for a goal and then really it felt like it might be on for the last 35 minutes before an unfortunate angle. It looked like, like Barcelona was kicking into gear a little bit more, but really just flat. Throughout in the 75th man, Rasi was able to score one more off of him. Poor clearance around Arujo. And then Barcelona survived. So their 24 game unbeaten streak is snapped in Dortmund. If you were gonna lose a game, this would be the one. Zi Flick mentioned like PSG, just that players were very upset in the manner in which they lost the game. And I think that frustration, you know that frustration is good. You drop the game here and it reminds you of what you are trying to do the rest of the season. So obviously they've had seven. With that matchup, it was seven games and 19. I think enter as well. They're, they're playing like a strong stretch of games as well with Syria, also not clenched and whatnot. That will be a fascinating tie considering Barcelona is the most prolific attack in Europe this season. And enter is the strongest defense in Europe this season. So plenty to play for coming in. UCL semis are set. Christian, we're gonna have leg one of arsenal. April 29th. What's up bud?

Christian:

He just took over the Barcelona section and I was

Will:

Oh, you wanna go for it, girl? I was, I was trying to just be brief, I'm not trying to go too far, before some classicos, bro.

Christian:

was one breath. That was a one breath take on the Barcelona corner.

Will:

Those are my guys, bro. You right. Christian, what do you have to say about, about Barcelona, bro? About the coolers, bro? Any thoughts? Any thoughts about Dortmund?

Christian:

No. One thing I do wanna mention, one of the stadiums that really, really want to visit is dotan. You always see like Dotan fans when they do the big what's it called? A big show. For example, when they, when they did the farewell for Marco Royce.

Will:

Yeah,

Christian:

that, that big fucking

Will:

T four.

Christian:

people. Yeah. I, I want to go to A-A-A-B-V-B game. They have an amazing jersey at least. Their older ones were like really cool. I. I, I, I like cia. They're like that team that's never necessarily considered oh, they're gonna definitely win. But they, they're always there. They always stick around. They always go pretty deep, like you mentioned. They're, they're middle of the table right now in Bundesliga, but still, they made it all the way to the quarterfinals. Like they, they try their best. It, it would've been interesting if they would've tied or at least,

Will:

And they, they really were missing, like those two missed goals early on to get that missing that first side.'cause then it's a whole different thing, even if they get one, so same with Villa, where it's like that late goal they gave up. And their first, I parked the prince I and did that three one. Those margins are thin, as we say all the time, but yeah. Yeah, dot man, always great o obviously in the shadow of Byron typically, but you usually hear a lot of good things about the energy and just kinda like the atmosphere of those boune Liga games as well. So honestly, let's just go to Germany, dude. Let's just go, go to Germany, hit a train, and just bounce stadium to stadium, right?

Christian:

This is a fill. Shout out to hurry up with the presentation so we can pop the tickets

Will:

Oh yeah, Phil. So we'll send the Prezi out through our, through our OnlyFans catch catch us in Munich in October, September. Hopefully maybe Phil come through that being said, like I said, semis are set. So leg one first legs will be played April 29th, April 30th. So we are recording April 17th. We're 12 days away. Arson will play their first leg at home on that Tuesday. Barson will play their first leg at home the 30th the following day, and then they're gonna flip dates the following week where leg two will be played on that Tuesday. I fucked it up on the sheet, but on May 6th. For barley enter, and then leg two will be set for the Arsenal PSG game in Park de Penins in May 7th with a final UCL final being played. May 31st in the Allianz.

Christian:

You excited? Nervous?

Will:

Oh God, bro. Watching the Barcelona game Tuesday. I was just like, it's not, it's like you felt good, but you saw how shit they were playing. I was just kind of like, I'm just stressed. Like anything could happen. And then watching that fucking Arsenal Madrid game, even though I was like, they're playing really well, but especially once Libba gave up. One, the penalty, that five minute check, which why is it five minutes? It should be just like really, just one way or another. But seeing them give up that easy goal, it's ah, I've seen this bullshit before. Just that mickey ass goal out of nowhere and then they, whatever. But so stressful. So stressful. I literally was starting to count down. I was like if they don't give up a goal. For 15 minutes, we're good at oh, 10 minutes. Oh, okay. They'd have to score a goal every two minutes. And that was pretty much through extra time where I was just like, at this 20 seconds, that's hard to do. So I think David rise the first time I seen a keeper get a yellow for time racing in the first half of a game. Actually, now I'm touching on it, but very stressful. On the other side of Christian's Madrid, Arsal, as you guys can tell, I am a Barcelona Arsenal fan. I want both teams to win. We will get to that final and then, we'll, we'll see what happens. But tough matchups all around. But fun matchups for sure. And I like that our semi-finals are being represented by four different leagues, four different countries.

Christian:

Them fighting for the trouble.

Will:

Yes, yes, yes. Arsenal said, Hey, we're gonna do one trophy at a time, but we're gonna, we're aim for something big to start. We're running little long. I was gonna do a power ranking update. Fuck it. We'll, we'll flex that to next week. You can, guys can list us. Talk about that. We do have a match date. 33 coming up. Christian, you wanna take that? I saw you hydrating over there. I feel like you're ready for it.

Christian:

Alright, match.

Will:

I was like, why are we Jamaican singers?

Christian:

All right. Match 8 33. We got Brentford versus Brighton. Crystal Palace versus the cherries. Everson versus Man, city, west, ham, United, taking on the Saints. Are we still on? Record Watch with the Saints.

Will:

Yes, sir.

Christian:

Woo.

Will:

they did not win last week. So we, we are, we're on Saint Watch. They need two points. Six games. I was going over the, the standings and the point difference they had gotten one point, no wait. Oh my God. Did they score no points? I think they got one point over the last eight games, like match day 24 to 32, so six games left. You need two. We got this.

Christian:

Let's see. We got the villains versus Newcastle, Fulham versus Chelsea. Tractor Boys versus the Gooners United versus the Wolves. Lester City versus Liverpool Spurs versus the tricky trees. Which one you looking forward to, bro

Will:

top of my watch list is that Villa Newcastle game, just with the context of what the table is right now. Was it Newcastle sitting at third two point and their five points clear villa, A villa can get a win. They probably jump over someone just unless someone unless everyone in the top seven hold tight. But also that could definitely tighten up that top three race immensely. So I think that's gonna be my fixture of the week. Villa at home against Newcastle. How about you?

Christian:

I'm looking to see spurs tricky trees, tricky trees. Trees still holding onto a fourth spot. They they still have a semi-final fa cup to play against man city, I believe. Yeah. Trees still have something to play for Spurs as of about an hour ago. Also. Still have something to play for,

Will:

Oh, we didn't even touch on Europa. Oh, we didn't even touch on, oh, Aston Villa. PSG. We should have led with this. They played the wrong song. Did you catch that?

Christian:

no.

Will:

They played the Europa League song. And the warmups. So who is it? Is? Is it Neville? Oh God, I feel bad. Or is it Lineker? I need to look up who does the cover. I'm I feel bad now, but also he can be a dick sometimes, but he means I think I said that shit. It's Gary Lineker. No, it's not. No it's not. Absolutely not. All Englishmen look the same to me. It's not Phil and Neville'cause he just talks cat shit. Actually, drew, you can edit this in post.

Christian:

Brush it off to the intern.

Will:

Which intern? Christian, Phil. Phil fill the noise while I look up the host.

Christian:

Oh yeah, Tottenham actually, one Frankfurt today after a penalty in the 43rd minute, they were able to hold onto that result and got two one on aggregate against Frankfurt. And

Will:

Did, man, you hold on.

Christian:

ah, I jinxed them actually, as I was preparing my notes for this for this session. Actually

Will:

Oh, no.

Christian:

I'm gonna scroll up. Let's see. Low team morale, especially from Oana and Bay Deer with hopes of earning a semi, semi-final spot in the Europa. Is what I have as my bullet. And then I check Europa and Lions score. Oh, shit. No. Holy fuck. All right, so

Will:

I'm going to, yeah.

Christian:

crazy thing. So like I, I, I'm preparing my notes and it was like the 90th, 90th minute menu versus lion. Lion got a red card after a file in the 89th minute, and then they went into extra time. I wrote down that note, Lyons scored in a hundred and fourth minute and I was like, ah, I jinxed them. It's what I do. My bad. I'm checking now. Holy shit. 1, 2, 4 goals scored an extra time,

Will:

Who won?

Christian:

man. You won.

Will:

Oh shit. Who scored the goals?

Christian:

Five goals scored an extra time.

Will:

What the fuck?

Christian:

Lyons scored one in minute, 1 0 4 and 1 0 9. Manu said, hold these nuts and scored in the hundred and 14th, hundred and 20th and hundred and 21st minute to win five four on aggregate to get a semi-final spot in

Will:

Oh shit. They the, they did the Roman. They did the Madrid special. That's crazy.

Christian:

gain, three goals, and six minutes.

Will:

That's insane. Oh, tougher Leon. Tougher Leon. But. Wow. Okay. Manchester United's still alive, so is there a chance for a six U-C-L-U-C-L qualification? We'll see. So did And Spurs one too, you said, right?

Christian:

The Spurs did win. So look at that. We got EPO both in the semifinals. They will be facing athletic lube and la.

Will:

No, Tio folded on penalties. Bo glimpse held on. Yeah. Yeah. Shit. Shit. I need, I need, I need to get up on these Europa League games.

Christian:

Norway?

Will:

Yeah, yeah, yeah. Beating cio, they did they Boston the first, like two. Oh, I totally forgot that those games were going. And Bill Bell. Good for them. Bill Bell. Trying to qualify for UCL and obviously with Nick, the Williams brothers and

Christian:

Holy shit.

Will:

how they do their recruit, their recruitment in the Basque region. Anytime I see athletic wind, it's. It's neat seeing them when the copay re a couple seasons ago was a special moment.

Christian:

Every player on Bodo Glint is Norwegian except two. They have Casper,

Will:

shh. Michael.

Christian:

Casper host

Will:

I lied.

Christian:

Denmark, and they have a Russian and Nikita kin their

Will:

Shit.

Christian:

So yeah, an entire squad of. Local nationals. Yeah. That's pretty dope.

Will:

What a tangent.

Christian:

Yeah.

Will:

What a tangent.

Christian:

I want Bodo Glen to win this. Now. Who, who are the Yeah, I want Bodo Glen to win this. That's pretty dope.

Will:

Yeah, maybe Bo glint, if not Bill Bow. Just because I think that's just a good story for me. Cool. And it's Jamie Carri. To update you there. So we were so wrong and we are sorry because I enjoyed that show. So we stopped at, oh no, we, we already discussed the things. Aston v Cool Spurs Ingham Forest. Should be fun as well. That was gonna be my second tie actually. Good shout Christian.'cause forests are in a downturn. Spurs are spur this season, so who knows what will happen And I think that's the last game of the se of the week as well. Wow, this went on for a while. Jarrell, I miss you. Uh uh. Thank you again for listening. Anyone listening? Once again, this is the podcast that no one asked for. I already plugged the socials. We're all good. Christian, you want to thank anyone? Shout anyone out.

Christian:

I want to give a shout out to my puppy because she lost her first two baby teeth, puppy teeth yesterday after fucking up some napkins. So

Will:

the napkins never set a chance. I wanted to, I wanted to say shout out Arsenal, because you bought me great joy and also still, of course shout out Barcelona, but also shout out Arsenal, because I was just like, they can't keep getting away with it. Had me through, I was sweating. Yeah, the, I saw a thing where it's like every year when you guys win, you guys just end up losing pretty bad the next year or some shit, like the last three. I was just like if anyone had to do it, I'm glad it was done, but it was fucking stressful,

Christian:

we needed this year, man, like I, I think I told you like a month ago Madrid's not gonna, the way Madrid's playing right now, they're not gonna win anything. And we need, we need something to happen in, in the summer transfer window.

Will:

yeah. Yeah. I that I think that's what hurt you guys. Even though you guys won two trophies and hey, I'm, you're not gonna play. But we talked about it was just like the crew hasn't been there. I feel like Perez was just like if you can do it with a piece of gum and some rubber band around like

Christian:

Yeah.

Will:

really good players, do it with a little bit less, just, whatever. And, but Angela's getting the blame, but it's fine. We talked enough about Madrid. Thank you, Christian. Thank you ll Thank you everyone for listening. We'll catch you guys next week.

Christian:

Yes. Have a good

Will:

I wasn't sure if you were gonna throw up a question mark. What are you talking about? Yes,

Christian:

what's today? Yeah, yeah. I should definitely be here for next week.

Will:

Cool. Awesome. Peace.

Christian:

Peace.
