Christian:A
Jerrell:I'm glad to be doing it with you
Christian:a,
Will:Hell yeah.
Christian:we are fellas and we football.
Jerrell:Omaha, Nebraska. Today is Thursday, June 12th, 2025. I'm Jarrell. Will is here. Christian is here. We're shouting out Omaha, Nebraska, not just the stakes, but the town Y'all ever been to? Omaha? Y'all ever been to Nebraska? What's
Christian:absolutely not
Jerrell:been to Nebraska,
Christian:Kansas.
Jerrell:Tennessee.
Christian:Wait for it. Maybe Tennessee too.
Will:I don't know. I, I need to learn my Midwest cities better. Is Chicago closer? Actually, now I'm thinking about it.
Jerrell:I don't know.
Christian:Kansas is right below Nebraska.
Jerrell:I've been to Kansas City, which is Missouri for the for anybody outside of
Christian:depends what side. There's a little bit of Kansas. There's a little bit of Kansas City and the Kansas side. All right, we're already off topic.
Jerrell:Kansas City too. This is the intro. Shout outs. We're talking about Omaha. We got a Omaha listener,
Will:away.
Jerrell:two states. Okay, so we don't venture into tornado. Holly
Will:Shut the fuck up. Will. Hell yeah. Hell yeah, brother. Locked in. All right.
Jerrell:in.
Will:did this, but Christian, don't jump out the window. Walk away.
Christian:it's not high enough.
Jerrell:We could talk about Omaha more in our socials.
Will:enough.
Jerrell:Fellows on everything. Blue Sky X, Twitter, Instagram, the website, the football fellows dot bus bra.com,
Will:Buzz.
Jerrell:the football fellows@gmail.com. Let's talk about Nations League. Let's talk about transfers. Let's give our team grades'cause that was fun because always in flux my, my grades change on a day-to-day basis.
Will:That's crazy. I wrote all
Jerrell:But first things first.
Will:and then I put it in a bottle and then I, I, I buried it. So actually my grades have not changed,
Jerrell:oh, it was always a, it was always a C for Tottenham
Will:Oh, it's always a c at best.
Jerrell:Nations League. Who caught it? Who didn't catch it? It was on Fox, so I unfortunately did not. we are in the extended highlights club.
Will:We, we
Christian:Yeah.
Will:to be caught. France
Jerrell:fair. I.
Will:place killing in Bape Strikes again, Michael Ali. A, I don't know, Jeremy did not come in forth, but that's not what you were talking about. Go, go, go crazy. Drew
Jerrell:Zu scored, and that will be relevant. That'll be relevant later, but Spain cannot overcome. Portugal, it was tied after regulation went to extra time, and then Portugal wins on penalties. Ronaldo did. I think he got injured, but he
Christian:Yeah.
Jerrell:subbed out. 70 minutes, 60 minutes. I don't know. At some
Christian:After scoring the tying goal
Jerrell:after scoring the triangle. Yeah.
Will:picked up an injury. Yeah.
Jerrell:Cella got cooked by a 40-year-old.
Will:He just, just basic physics. He's not big enough. The service that he received was crazy.
Christian:Yeah.
Jerrell:for sure.
Will:And it's literally just Renado. Good, good job. Poaching out Nuno men's men's goal. To cap off, his run through PSG he might be the best left back in the world. His finish was. Was amazing. Responding back five minutes after Zube, Mendy was able to link up with Mary nine in the 21st. Huge goal for him to give them evenness. And then he also had a goal in the 45th. Good stuff, but yeah. All the goats pretty solid in some way. Nuno Min looking like a winger out there. He's just the
Jerrell:Yeah.
Will:side is mind now. So
Christian:Yeah,
Will:game.
Jerrell:going crazy saying Laal was bottled the entire game. Have you guys seen the memes and everything that came out from that?
Will:No, no,
Jerrell:No.
Will:I don't take it seriously. He's 17.
Jerrell:No. I know.
Will:yeah. I
Jerrell:It's just funny. It's just oh, yeah, it's, it's a big game. But,
Christian:even Ronaldo after the game there were just, there.
Jerrell:got bottled.
Christian:Even Ronaldo after the game was just like, all right, y'all need to give him some lax, like he's, he's, he's a kid. He just got, he was just able to play after 6:00 PM yesterday, like
Jerrell:He, he, he was, he's already played long enough to become the villain,
Christian:I would've say villain. I.
Will:Yeah, so it
Christian:He is a teenager, of course he is gonna have a strong, he is gonna stick out his chest when he does good. And he is been doing fucking amazing. So yeah, as soon as he does something bad there, all eyes are gonna be on him. Is it deserved? Probably not. He's a kid. Let him be a kid.
Will:I don't even think it's fair to say that he was like completely bottled, just because it was just like outside of his norm. But the fact that the standard's so high, I feel like, where it's just kind of like, oh, I don't have a moment to point to in a fucking final against Portugal against new bench, if that's a bottling. Okay. But yeah, and with that being said, despite the, it really came down to Alvaro. Malta was the only bad penalty taken if you, I don't know if you guys watch
Jerrell:Yeah.
Will:way through, but all the penalties were class and Malta just didn't get like the distance or the height really right on it. And that was it. Portugal straight through on five straight I think Ruben Neves he converted like the winner if I remember correctly. But yeah, one. One air the margins super thin. But yeah, great result for Portugal, I think was probably an underdog considering Spain's trajectory over the last I don't know, 24
Jerrell:years. Yeah.
Christian:It, it is tougher morta. He is been a consistent, he's been like their most, reliable nine for the previous years. He is a, a little o or played in the striker position. That's not his natural position. A solid. Stryker coming out outta Spain would would pretty much make this team scarier than it is now.
Jerrell:Everyone in search of a nine.
Will:think was it Marta for, a lot of people he talk about, he is like one of the top goal scorers all time for, Spain as well, if I remember that correctly. So I'm just kinda
Christian:Yeah.
Will:Yeah, always underappreciated, I feel, but, it'll be all right. It was a good tournament and I'm glad that there's some good football to come out of the Nations League. We always talk about all these I guess tertiary competitions as the Club World Cup ramps up in two days. But good to see the teams playing in, competing despite, we're what, 12 days off of the Champions League final before we start another competition. And yeah.
Jerrell:Competition after competition. After competition. Let's go,
Will:yeah.
Jerrell:but it's a summertime when we have transfers. Anybody wanna kick it off? What's your favorite transfer so far?
Will:I think the job that Man City is doing is pretty good. I don't think we've, a lot was finalized over the last week but they were able to pick up T lenders out of AC Milan at Cut Radio re on Cherokee as well as Christian mentioned. They were able to get him for about 41 million us. And then while also shoring up at fullback because they bought in ran annuity from wolves, and I think they paid like what, 25 million. Euros or something like that. For someone who's a pretty good player, it's like a pretty good deal all things considered. Man City continues to reload and I continue to ask what happened to the charges? What's going on? I thought this would be just gimme some
Jerrell:There are no charges in the Premier League.
Will:Not the Jedi hand wave. Those, yeah, those stuck stuck out to me over the last couple weeks. Over the last week, oh, also KDB
Jerrell:KDB found a home.
Will:head to Napoli. So I think that should Napoli just winning. And then KDB, you win over there, you become a hero. I'll never forget when I was there, like six weeks after they won a couples years ago, and just all you saw was, yeah, the Napoli colors everywhere, Mar everywhere. I think it's a good landing spot. I think I prefer Napoli over MLS. No offense. So
Jerrell:Yeah,
Christian:yeah, for sure.
Jerrell:fair. Still, that's Champions League next year too. So he still gets to play in Champions League.
Will:the.
Christian:A good game to watch if Napoli plays Man city.
Will:I think Esteve is gonna be coming into Chelsea. It was a deal they got done last year, I believe. So he's about to turn 18 on the Hendrick formula, if you're familiar. Christian for 34 million pounds. Namar saying he thinks he's gonna be a genius, so more Brazilian forwards coming to the Premier League. So he gets to compete on the forward line for Chelsea, so that could be a problem. We'll see how he develops.
Jerrell:The biggest news, and it happened, I think it was the next day after the pod came out post Colu getting sacked by the Spurs. We haven't we haven't had a chance to talk about on the podcast thoughts.
Christian:That shit was crazy. He delivered on his problem. Yeah. Like on one side. Yeah.
Will:shit cray.
Christian:Yeah. Like
Will:Go ahead, Christian.
Christian:on his promise. He got him a trophy, an international trophy within two years. Granted, they did fucking suck in the Premier League, but it's, it's not his fault. I think we, we touched up on it throughout the season that the Spurs had a few injuries that they had to deal with. Who, who would've like maybe a healthy Spurs, they would've done a lot better on the league itself, but sacked after two years, after winning a a, a European trophy. That's a little tough. Deserved more time.
Will:Yeah, so I know it's like something we discussed like a little bit at length and when we were going over the reports where it's just thing. On the flip side, I think Thomas Frank is a good coach, so I'm glad, I guess not necessarily soccer. I'm a Knicks fan so I can relate to a coaching search right now. So the fact that they had a pretty good replacement, Thomas Frank, I think the trajectory of that B side you're wondering what's next with Bri. Brian Bao. It's looking like he's headed to Manchester United. At some
Jerrell:Trying to get hijacked Spurs are trying to hijack that one actually.
Will:I feel like, I think he has eyes set there, but hey, we'll see. But yeah, maybe Thomas Frank could convince him to commit to Spurs and then you figure you own wea and usually when a teams can, I feel like he really got the most out of them. They didn't necessarily go, not that anyone's like necessarily a scrub in the Premier League. Usually you see like just a collection of the. Best like international coaches, like Postoc Colu from Australia. But yes, step one is just to get the same ba buy-in.'cause I think the biggest thing is Postoc Colu, despite the hard season, you can tell those players really cared about him. So Thomas Frankie has a job in front of him, but a replacements that are available or, or replacements you think of in the league. I think that's makes sense. Albeit. Yeah, still, still tough business considering, they were able to get a trophy despite the poor finish, hmm. We'll
Jerrell:Yeah, club, bigger stage, better players. The. As the resident Brentford Redditor they're so conflicted about it'cause they're just like, I don't understand why he would go to the Spurs. But there's a, there's a lot of things that the Spurs have that Brentford just doesn't, and it, it is those things. It's just a bigger footprint. You can do a lot more. And for a manager, it's a chance to prove yourself in Champions League as well. So we'll see what happens. Thomas Frank is
Will:the
Jerrell:a couple years removed. Yeah.
Will:Usually it's just like you have to make the move. You have to make the move at the right time. A lot of times Amar MI guess is like the easiest one for us to talk about, where he was highly coveted even like last summer with the work he did with sporting coming midseason to, a high pressure Manchester United situation. Now, the seat's cooled a little bit and everyone's wondering does. A lot of questions being asked about his managerial style, Thomas Frank. I feel like it makes sense, the teams, there's positive, positive momentum there. They can drop point to just the injuries. They were still able to get some trophies at the end of it. So there's work to be done and it's, it feels achievable, I feel, versus like that Manchester United gig coming in Midseason as things are already starting a little poor, it just felt know, what's the plan or whatnot. Yeah, shout out Spurs. Shout out Spurs. I. on them. Pretty heavy in case they went this route, but they got, they got a the bang on manager, so
Jerrell:The couple managers that could replace Brentford and I have to pull that up right now. Oh my God, I wish it was there. Oh, here we are.
Will:God
Jerrell:managers to go in. Yeah. Into Brentford. Eden Turik is one, from Dottin coach Doman to the Champions League last year. He is without a job, so he is a candidate who could take that spot. Ian Mc McKenna of Ipswich. Promoted Ipswich, of course, but now also might make the move over to stay in Premier League. Denny role, Sheffield Wednesday, which just seems to be going sideways. Sideways. And, and Michael Kerick who manage Middle Middlesboro also United icon. So a couple candidates that Brent, that could step in take over the manager spot for Brentford. Justin, Cochran also went to Spurs. He is the assistant for Thomas Frank, and he is also joining him with the, with the Spurs. So
Will:Hot
Jerrell:first in line was
Will:if you had
Jerrell:Uhhuh
Will:No, no doubts. Just vibes. Who is it?
Jerrell:five, probably Eden, probably the the Champions League experience.
Will:Okay.
Jerrell:probably, probably take tour.
Will:Okay.
Jerrell:He just, he is just the one that pops out. Just
Will:All
Jerrell:I don't know. He's got, got success. Yeah. All vibes. Everyone else is Champion championship league, barely Premier League. So that, that's just the way Eileen, we'll see how it goes.
Christian:Fees needs to make the champions.
Jerrell:Yeah, men united up their bid for him,
Will:Yeah,
Jerrell:60 million pounds plus. But Spurs with the appointment of Thomas Frank, which was official today are looking to hijack using the connections. We'll see what happens. I'd probably give it 80 20 in favor of Men United to still sign him.
Will:Yeah. And Bemo, I think at least as of like recently was just like, pretty much no, I'm going to Manchester Unite. So yeah, let's see if the Frank Angle gives them in over there. But I don't know if 60 mil for in Bemo finishes the problems that are going on there. But we'll see. We'll see.
Jerrell:Yeah. Jack Grish might be moving on. Everton and Newcastle have interest in him.
Will:out of the club World Cup side for Manchester City this summer. So yeah, they're looking to get off of him as they look to bring in reinforcements. Yeah.
Christian:yeah, they spend a lot of money at Jack Reli. They gotta try to offload em as get as much as they can from.
Jerrell:Yeah, and the only striker that seems to be locked is Florin wt Liverpool looked to close the 114 million pound deal. He'll be the 10th player to go over a hundred million pounds.
Will:not Drew. Finding the pound sign on the keyboard. Good shit,
Jerrell:I copy and paste. I copy and pasted it from the website. Yeah. Yeah.
Christian:Lbs, bro.
Will:bro.
Christian:Lbs.
Will:Yeah, so I think I Deal with variables could make up to one 50. Euros at least. I don't know. Conversion pounds is a little different, but yeah, good
Jerrell:so a couple
Will:they get that sh money.
Jerrell:much money. Couple trivia questions for you guys.
Will:Yeah. Ready for this. Let's go.
Jerrell:Yeah. So with the Liverpool, with words being the 10th player to go over a hundred million pounds, what are, there's three clubs in the top 10 have signed players for over a a hundred million pounds. What, what are those clubs?
Will:this only Premier League?
Jerrell:It's not only Premier League. Mm-hmm.
Will:Christian. You can go ahead too. We can go band. Band for band,
Christian:teams that have signed players over a hundred mil
Will:I'm
Jerrell:Mm-hmm.
Will:Barcelona players. They're the spoiler.
Christian:has manity not spent over a hundred mil on players.
Will:I think Grish was a hundred mil. No.
Jerrell:There it, but they've, these clubs are tied for the most over a hundred mil, so he might be on that list.
Will:I thought we were just in general who have done it.
Christian:Yeah, Sure it was a hundred mil.
Will:PSG. Fucking namar. Yeah. Two 20. That's
Christian:Al Halal
Will:my mind.
Jerrell:And
Will:Oh,
Christian:Al,
Jerrell:Bar
Will:can I keep
Jerrell:Bar, Barcelona, Chelsea and PSG. Yep.
Will:Okay.
Christian:Al in there.
Jerrell:you, you already answered the second trivia question, which was the highest transfer fee for a player.
Will:I know, I know a lot about mismanagement buddy. Let me tell you,
Jerrell:Would Barcelona do it? That money?
Will:me, let me tell you about tragic downfalls, bro. Just spend it fast and then fucking hold your ankles and kiss your ass. Goodbye later, bro. Shit's
Jerrell:Yeah,
Christian:but that Spotify deal was nice though.
Jerrell:of fucking money. Where did it go?
Will:fact that the Spotify and Nike deals, there's some shrewd deals being made, and we just gave Joanne Garcia a sixth year for our amortization purposes, bro. Yeah. Bar,
Jerrell:Can you name the players who Barcelona spent over a hundred million on?
Will:fucking, yeah. Bel,
Christian:Oh
Will:did, did Grease hit a hundred mil? Actually.
Jerrell:De no de was 97 pounds. 97 million pounds.
Will:though, bro. I'm thinking Euros,
Jerrell:Yeah, no, you are correct in Euro. That list is longer.
Will:for before we hit Brexit. I'm not done. I'm damn bro. That's fucking crazy.
Jerrell:One more though.
Will:there's one more.
Jerrell:Yeah, and give you a hint.
Will:it's
Jerrell:I.
Will:I said already. Okay. Wait for it. Wait for it. Wait for it.'cause it's gonna hurt when I say it. It wasn't Grease. It wasn't Suarez. It wasn't Namar.'cause they, their counting bullshit was crazy. I'm about to cry, gimme a hint.
Jerrell:Yeah, he just retired from the French national team.
Will:Did I not say grease Man?
Jerrell:said it's not Grisman, but Gman is correct.
Will:Oh no, I said Grisman in the last run through. Yeah, yeah.
Jerrell:Oh, okay.
Will:I knew Bro Grisman even the first summer before he did the movie thing saying yeah, I'm gonna say let go. And then they did it. I was like, he plays the same role as messy on the same side. We don't do second strike cruisers. We do 4, 3, 3. This doesn't make sense. And then here we are. And now I think we ended up selling him for five or 10 mil or some shit. Or we might've just fucking cut his wages and just said, you can have him. And then I think at Letgo just fucked on us the next season. It was great. Yeah. Good for
Jerrell:Jack, Jack Relist was 107, a hundred pounds even,
Christian:Yeah
Jerrell:the Villa to Man City, Declan Rice a hundred pounds. Even Westham Arsenal. We know that one.
Will:the, all my transfer knowledge is based pre-B, Brexit,
Christian:it is funny.
Will:I don't only know Ease.
Jerrell:Yeah. And Bape transferred to PSG was expensive too. The year after Namar 163 million pounds.
Christian:Woo.
Will:And Bobby was being offered to Barcelona the summer that they were like, no, we're gonna spend more on Elli. Fun story about that. I. it Bar meu? When they went in, they're like, we're not gonna spend more than this. Dortmund fucking walked into a meeting that they flew out for, pretended that they had a flight to catch. Yeah, it's gonna be this much. And Barcelona went well above what they were allegedly willing to do. And it just says a lot about the Mayo area. Whereas I watched it, I wasn't like super well versed. I was just like, it just feels like they're just throwing money at all these aging guys that aren't gonna really work out'cause there's no discernible style of play. And then all this money shit, it's summer, I can talk right?
Jerrell:Yeah.
Will:money shit. After the fact, I'm just kinda fuck bro. was just like, everyone could see it. But thumb, I'm still convinced that that man should go to prison for how he mismanaged that club, bro. It's crazy. Camp. No. Maybe next year, baby. Fuck yeah.
Jerrell:That was, that was a trivia corner. Yeah. Trivia. Victor Vic.
Will:ev, how much
Jerrell:Yeah,
Will:have spent, how much does the cost of each tier in equivalent? I was just like 30 racks a tear actually. A lot of tears Messy left. That was, that was dark times for me.
Jerrell:Victor Guro how do you say it?
Will:That was me saying it in my Asian accent. That wasn't good. Giles.
Jerrell:Swedish, right? Yeah. Swedish
Christian:Pause.
Jerrell:being heavily courted by Arsenal, but Man United also want him,
Will:Yeah, arsenal had a
Jerrell:and Sporting is like, sporting is like, the release clause is a hundred million. We're not, we, we know a player of that age and from Portugal doesn't go for that much, but they didn't want to take 60 and they're up in the neighborhood of 80 now.
Will:apparently Giles is very pissed.'cause last season he stayed on with the idea that instead of the 70 plus 10 they're looking for, or some shit that they'd be willing to let him go for about 60. And it was like, a handshake deal. And they were just like,
Jerrell:Claim it did not happen.
Will:Is it in writing? Get it in writing guys.
Christian:Every time
Will:we'll see how that goes.
Jerrell:So sporting looking for 80 million for that transfer release clause. Yeah.
Will:55 plus 10 in variables as a fuck you today
Christian:iced.
Will:It's funny'cause I can see a version of this window where Arsenal gets n neither of these
Jerrell:Nobody, yeah,
Will:they're trying to get a deal with both of them and pick one. And I feel like someone's just gonna swoop in once this window hits a little scary.
Jerrell:Arsenal did have formal meetings with Yoko, Rich's agent, so I don't know what that means, but they, it puts them slightly ahead of Man United and whoever else is in the sweepstakes for his talents.
Will:spreading it wide so no one has leverage to fuck him over on price. Nico Williams would be an ideal fit, but I think he wants 300 KA week and that wage structure would get fucked
Jerrell:Byron has actually come calling for Nico Williams as well
Will:yeah, bill Bell I think
Jerrell:and he said he could imagine, he could imagine that he could imagine playing for Byron.
Will:if he says that the price goes up, bro.
Jerrell:Sure. I don't know.
Will:oh, Yeah.
Jerrell:Also Rodrigo speaking of the other striker Benjamin Sesco Arsenal's, formerly approached Leic for his talents. who knows? Who knows? Maybe Arsenal gets nobody, like we said, and we have
Will:it looked like
Jerrell:with Kai
Will:for
Jerrell:h another week
Will:Last week, SESCO for sure. And now it's just I'm just like, all
Christian:We have Mary nine.
Will:mils,
Christian:Does Zubie Mindy play nine?
Jerrell:Mendy.
Will:Zubie, Zubie.
Jerrell:He's
Christian:Zubie? Nine? Bro,
Jerrell:Yeah, he's not official yet. There's also a hangup in that, so
Will:Yeah, that's probably gonna, I think
Christian:this is.
Will:that wants the deal done in July, so that way for accounting purposes. So it's in the next league window, but the quiet thing is not that Madrid, the Justin Moores like, Hey, just came by, was like everything good with that arsenal deal? Apparently he was just, okay, cool. know, just
Jerrell:we're just checking.
Will:it out there. So Christian's over here's just rubbing his nipples like it's a win-win. He is on one of my teams,
Christian:Oh yeah.
Jerrell:This was interesting. Sun hearing min is, has an uncertain future with the Spurs. Might go to the Saudi League.
Christian:Saudi League
Jerrell:Little rumor. Little rumor out there.
Will:I haven't heard too much of like his
Jerrell:It's.
Will:spots. Yeah.
Jerrell:It's pretty quiet, but it might have changed with the appointment of Thomas Frank, to say, but that was floating around, so I just figured I'd bring it up'cause it's interesting.
Christian:while we're on the Tottenham. Potential transfers. Did you hear? Recently ti their defensive anchor posted hours after Frank got appointed to the Spurs. Pretty much a heartfelt message saying, oh, thank you for the last two years. You've been great, blah, blah, blah, blah. No mention of the new coach. TI has been linked with TI too
Will:If I remember correctly. Yeah, he was a big Postoc Colu fan and it looked like his fate might've been tied with that.'cause rod Meadow as well, just like on his day is just like one of the better center backs in the league, out, the pairings and injuries souring it, but yeah, he's been playing really well over the last couple years without just maybe the marketability, even though he's on a
Christian:Yeah,
Will:team that's underperforming. But
Christian:anchor.
Will:Yeah, man. A lot of
Jerrell:And just a couple,
Will:I love you.
Jerrell:couple more transfers. It doesn't matter to many, but. Maybe North London and, and Westham. Aaron Ramsdale might be heading, yeah, north London. Aaron Ramsdale may be heading to Westham. I think he's also been linked to Villa, but Westham seems to be likely landing spot.
Will:Oh yeah.'cause I forgot. Emmy, I think is done with
Christian:Yeah.
Will:looks like, it looks
Jerrell:Correct.
Will:like an
Christian:I,
Will:casualty.
Christian:I heard the announcer say while I was watching the Columbia game.
Will:the way he cried last day of the season and with that mistake that caused or whatever, I think it's like one of those just it's gonna happen, but I think it's just a casualty of accounting more than anything.
Christian:Mm.
Will:eh, so
Jerrell:And I didn't mention this with the other Liverpool news, but Liverpool also looking to offload a Darwin Nunez with after their,
Will:else? Yeah.
Jerrell:acquisition and they're considering offers for Lucho. And
Will:Are they?
Jerrell:any comments considering
Will:No, no.
Jerrell:so.
Will:like, yeah, I think Lucho, they're like, give me 80 million. And I'm just like, Barcelona, don't you fucking dare, don't you
Christian:I think,
Will:think he's quality and good.
Jerrell:Say, I won't say
Will:when we, I don't think I, I still don't think we can technically spend money or wages. It's fucking insane.'cause there's no resell three years from now. So I'm just kinda what are
Jerrell:what is.
Will:He's 28. Yeah. So what, two years from now, who's gonna buy him at 30 for 80 million? Is, is, is a lot of money for a really good winger. He presses really well, does a lot of great things. He had a goal
Jerrell:goal.
Will:the
Jerrell:Yeah
Will:but 80 million is,
Jerrell:a very nice goal.
Will:A lot. It's a lot right now, so we'll see.
Christian:For the
Will:needs to go.
Christian:Nunes, I think is he's interested or he, he's expressed that he wants to move to a lot connections here.
Will:Leddy is just like you get to live, play in a great town. The weather's fantastic. It's a good team. Come there's worse places to go,
Christian:yeah.
Will:connection up top with Julian Al. There's a lot of pieces there. It's fun.
Christian:Yeah.
Will:I get it. I get it. Cholo sometimes I feel isn't the most fun. He looks very stressed out, but all the other things. Yeah, why not?
Jerrell:Any other transfers? I got what I have in front of me, but I don't
Christian:Did Marc sign a goalie?
Jerrell:to give a shout to.
Will:Yeah, we got Joan Garcia
Christian:Sagan feel about that?
Will:Oh, ter, Sagan's pissed, bro. What the
Christian:Yeah.
Will:Ter Sagan is not I, oh, you. And, and then Thono was doing their whole thing where it's just I feel bad. He's an aging goalie and don't I think Barcelona pursued him through a market opportunity. We talked a little bit about it last week on the pot. But yeah, they, he had a release clause of 25 mil from Espanol, espanols piss, because their rivals in town rivals as well. But 25 million release calls for a 24-year-old year, year old keeper whose future looks like it's destined to lead the Spain national team most likely. So I think Barcelona pursued it for, as a market opportunity and also being like Chesney's 34 tote against 33. And we've won one UCL in the last 10 years with him at the helm, and he's been dealing with a lot of injuries. So I don't think it's necessarily cooked, but it's just Hey, we, you had an opportunity to do something.
Jerrell:What's going. In a real Madrid world, Christian,
Christian:We just I think ha
Jerrell:Alexander Arnold, who spoke fluent Spanish when he met the media today,
Christian:Yeah, bro, that Jude connection as, what do you think they've been practicing at?
Jerrell:Bellingham did not know Spanish
Christian:do you think they've been talking about during the English training is they're just,
Jerrell:He said, you better fucking learn or they'll hate you.
Christian:yeah. Not, but nothing. I don't see any,
Will:his as of two weeks ago, I believe
Christian:yeah.
Will:said. Yeah. He had to catch himself
Christian:I haven't really seen any big updates on Ramad transfer news. I'm pretty sure we have eight people scouting five year olds in Brazil.
Will:Yeah,
Jerrell:Yeah, that's why an's in Brazil right now,
Will:the.
Jerrell:works for Al Madrid.
Christian:Yeah.
Will:be pissed if I was enchilada. I was like, oh, so LA all season, like the last 18 months, all I've been asking for is this. I leave and, oh, okay. You're just gonna do it all now. Cool. Cool, cool. Cool. Tight, tight, tight,
Christian:Yeah.
Will:So
Jerrell:All right. Wanna get into team grades?
Christian:Let's do it.
Will:let me take out my What do teachers rule? Use ruler marker. Read a pen.
Jerrell:red pen. We're gonna start with Manchester United Christian. We'll give the floor to you
Will:Christian.
Christian:Oh, this is,
Jerrell:first grade, unless you wanted to run through 20 through 16 real quick.
Christian:nah.
Will:do 2316. No, the people demand it. You don't have to talk about it. Just give us to it.
Christian:Banks, Southampton, FI mean, they just barely beat Derby County to have just a marginally better record than ever. Ipswich Town a a in here, fellas a in here,
Will:For
Christian:they took me,
Will:pointing at his heart that just swelled three times larger than it's ever been.
Christian:They had fun matches. It, it was fun. There was moments, I, I think they'd be some, some top teams out there and then just when they just couldn't keep leads and it.
Jerrell:Again, did they, who'd they beat?
Christian:I'm pretty sure that
Will:hey, hey, hey,
Jerrell:They did betten them. They beat Toten. Them
Will:a deep top team. This isn't a deep
Jerrell:and Chelsea. No,
Will:is.
Jerrell:no, no, no. I just wanted to make sure they did Betten and they beat Chelsea.
Christian:Chelsea, that's who it was. I knew it was a blue team.
Will:Christian's expectations as well
Christian:let's see, the foxes, I'm gonna give it a F minus,
Jerrell:Even worse
Christian:F plus
Jerrell:than South.
Christian:and f plus, just because,
Will:like, is that double negative? Do you want a f plus or does that mean that you did the top end of an F like you, you're even worse, is F minus good? I don't do two negatives make a
Christian:I'm saying f plus. I'm gonna go f plus, just'cause of the Varde connection. Shout out to, to him
Will:if that's worse or better, but yeah. Carry on
Christian:the spurs. All right. This is, this one's tough. F it's not tough at all actually. Yeah.
Will:F for Frank,
Christian:Yeah.
Will:The F baby and the F is for Frank.
Christian:this spur just missed out on being relegated. 17th. I, yeah, they had a whole bunch of injuries throughout the season.
Will:they,
Jerrell:It wasn't closed.
Will:just miss out, he said,
Christian:One more spot.
Will:boys just had to win on the last
Jerrell:The gap was 13 points.
Will:bro,
Christian:more spot. So I'm a F just because,
Will:yeah. I love
Jerrell:Okay.
Will:love the
Christian:the Premier League.
Will:we wait
Christian:No,
Will:before
Christian:sorry. I'll, I'll give him a, I'll give him a D minus because of the Euro League win.
Jerrell:Okay.
Will:Okay, so real quick, just to clarify,
Jerrell:No weight for Europe.
Will:f, F, now D minus. Okay,
Christian:no, no, no, no, no, no. I, we have FAF plus D minus. Yeah.
Will:know if
Jerrell:The plus. The plus is important.
Will:fault.
Christian:Yeah, bro. Come on
Will:notes next time. All right. And wolves
Christian:the wolves. Slightly worse off than a year ago.
Will:Half finish.
Christian:they did have a strong second half finish.
Jerrell:influence him. I wanna see this
Christian:I'm gonna, I'm gonna, I'm gonna do a, let's just do a, a, a D. Let's just go with a D.
Will:F.
Jerrell:Christian
Christian:with D.
Jerrell:grader.
Will:Yeah.
Jerrell:He is a harsh grader. Position does matter in Christian's grade rubric.
Will:the ref the judge in the boxing fight. Who said no one won? Everyone. Nine. Yeah. 1 0 8 to 1 0 8. Draw y'all both trash.
Christian:To start off this week's Manchester United is gonna get a what say with me. F No one said it with me, but it is an FI fucking knew it, but yeah, I mean you had so much talent on paper and then it just didn't capitalize you. 1515, man, you top supposedly supposed to be a top six team. Ended up in, in 15th spot.
Will:more
Christian:no.
Will:bottom six team. Am I right?
Christian:Yeah. Yeah. Season full of under performances. Just not, not, not a good outing for, for, man, you solid F.
Will:like they were, I feel like they were fucked. It's easier to say it in like hindsight. I don't think anyone thought even after that FA cup like win unless, like they just came out the gates winning everything that 10 heg was gonna make it through the season at all. So
Jerrell:Yeah.
Christian:Yeah.
Will:he didn't even make it to Christmas, I'm just like, I feel like they set him up for failure. But yeah. Yeah, they didn't have a trophy. So I'm gonna go ahead. Yeah, I'm gonna go ahead and give'em like a DF plus D minus, we'll call it a D. It just, no, it's an F. It's Manchester, United. You're right, there's more, the expectations are higher, and last year was
Christian:Should have said it with me.
Will:This, this season, they finished
Jerrell:Yeah.
Will:I'm gonna go ahead and give it a big old red FA red. A whole summer to work on things, they were a little bit more active somehow. Once again. And the transfer market with the savings they made by not flying out their staff and workers to that Euro League final.
Jerrell:Hmm. Nice. Yeah. Upon further evaluation, it's gonna have to be a, an F for Manchester United and the prestige of the club, just global reach that they have. I think it's probably the most popular Premier League club. Yeah. Maybe.
Will:saw A good summer though. Do you guys see the pictures of him?
Jerrell:no.
Will:man was at Carnival. Love that man. That man was me in co in college. This man in cargo pants. No shirt on. Just,
Christian:living life.
Will:yeah, I was gonna say a woman grinding on him. And then the pictures after showing just a big old wet stain where she was.
Christian:Oh.
Will:Xerxes seems unaffected.
Jerrell:But yeah.
Will:to be fair, like literally wet. Thank you for clarifying. I was gonna say moist. I
Christian:Yeah, that's even worse.
Jerrell:Nope. Not that one either. Not that one either. But yeah, Manchester United, they decide to go into the season with 10 Hog doesn't pan out. They fire him. Ruben Aerin comes in, doesn't get any better. They go unbeaten in Europa League up until the final and then they lose to premier League competitor or Tottenham. So no champions league, no Europe. Next year it's, it's an F two managers. Nothing got better. looking good, so we'll see what happens next year.
Will:looked good too, apparently. So we'll see.
Jerrell:Mm. Okay. Yeah, we'll definitely see.
Will:I start? My catfish?
Christian:go for it.
Will:My catfish. I had high expectations for them last year. West Ham, the hammers we're united. I'm gonna go ahead, even though they disappointed me. B, because I think they're gonna do better next year.
Christian:BAB.
Will:I'm Dilutional, bro. They're, they're gonna do right by me next season, bro.
Christian:That's crazy.
Will:Letham United because
Jerrell:always come back.
Will:this season to really lock the fuck into this grind set mentality they're gonna have for next season. Yes, wise, I was like, oh, like they could definitely make champions.
Christian:Outside of the relegated teams, they have the worst goal differential this season.
Will:I am willing to look, overlook that Christian, because they're gonna be better next year. Fine. B minus or Westham? Outside of the catfish
Christian:B minus.
Will:It's a D. My, I
Christian:Okay. Oh, okay.
Will:to the homies deep down. The intrusive grade is a D.
Christian:That's fair.
Will:the fuck. But they're gonna be different next season. So I'm gonna go ahead and give them a B because it's gonna average out between how great they're gonna do next season. West hand.
Christian:Who? Maybe definitely a DI mean, they were in ninth place last season. They had a squad this year it's your catfish. They had a squad this year that on paper, he was like, all right, here we go. We, we got this, we got this. They it, in fact, did not have this. So yeah, Wes Sam's gonna have to get a D.
Jerrell:You wanna look at the preseason power rankings again?
Will:my
Jerrell:Yeah.
Will:place. Shout Spurs was my real catfish, but that was my fault for believing anything.
Jerrell:they did win a Europe trophy. Yeah,
Christian:No,
Jerrell:a d They
Christian:we t's always shit.
Jerrell:were, they made it to the top 10 once in the second week, and they were only there for just that week, and they never sniffed it again. And they just sat there and they sat there at 15, 16, 14,
Will:Ds on that bitch. Yeah, it was bad.
Jerrell:just never, it never materialized.
Will:had it in in burst though. Like I didn't, I didn't, I almost fully quit on them. And then they like, railed off a couple results, I think on second half of the year. And then they were just bad to close up the
Jerrell:And then they had one time they had back to back winds when they beat Arsenal and Lester City.
Will:I'm just saying, some could say that BA beating next season's first place finishers. That's crazy. I'm just saying. They're gonna gimme a ring soon, guys. Don't worry.
Jerrell:Yeah. Westham Christian, your grade.
Christian:Next up ever. What for Westham.
Will:ahead.
Jerrell:Oh yeah. What'd you say? For
Christian:Oh, yeah. D Definitely not d, d for, damn.
Will:of
Christian:They suck.
Will:just a babe. They're just hating. Don't worry about it.
Jerrell:You could definitely give us Everton.
Christian:Everton, the toffees, Molly bushels and her good old toffees. They had a few strong moments. They had a lot of uncertainty throughout the year with all the financial stuff that I think they were still dealing with in the beginning of the season. They were just able to fight off relegation last year, so they did perform better than on the table. They did perform better. Than they did last season with the farewell of Goodison Park. I'm, I'm gonna give'em, I, I think they, they're worthy of a middle of the pack seat.
Jerrell:They get a bonus grade for Gland Park shutting
Christian:Yeah,
Will:They
Jerrell:Okay.
Will:is great also for their lower story being interesting to Christian. Let's keep it a box.
Jerrell:That's also,
Christian:Yeah. We started off with her, with, with her toffees, and then it just slowly started going down. Now I, I'll bring it back just for the wolves.
Will:players, no anything. He said. Molly bushel, toffee vibes.
Christian:Yeah.
Will:love it.
Jerrell:Yeah, I can't argue with the CI mean, to start to the season, losing the first four and then getting a draw, Everton did. Slowly gained position as the season progressed. So if you take from how they started to how they ended, they definitely finished And I think they finished higher than they did last season. But they also had point deductions last season. A CAC works. And they also did get that stun against Liverpool to draw in the last rivalry game at Goodison Park, which is big hype.
Will:was gonna bump him to a C just based off the strength of that. Yeah. C for Everson.
Jerrell:CCCs. Oh, this one will be fun. All right, guys.
Will:giving'em an
Jerrell:Palace.
Will:jumping ahead of line. I'm giving'em an A. They got a European trophy considering they lost
Jerrell:They get to play for European
Christian:Yeah.
Jerrell:FA Cup.
Will:a FA cup. That's like their first major trophy ever.
Christian:Wait, do they get to play for a European trophy? Has that situation been settled
Will:divest, I
Jerrell:Yeah.
Will:owner of the Jets
Christian:any?
Will:of Johnson and Johnson fame is, may buy some shares that would allow it to happen. Considering
Christian:there a deadline? Because they try, they try to do the same shit, man, city, and all of them did. They were just like,
Will:a,
Christian:it's an a.
Will:it. I don't, I think they're,
Jerrell:It's an A, regardless of the outcome.
Will:new that came up recently considering they won like what, two weeks ago? That trophy three weeks or whatnot. I think they're figuring out the legal ease of that. Whatever. It's an A, it's an A L five is a off A for the trophy. Know Michael Lee say they started off really bad start of the year. We're looking like a heavy relegation candidate, like I think after the first like six to eight games and they finished really strong. Finished around about where you expect them to finish given Crystal Palace. But, and also we're approaching like their highest point, total of all time, if I remember that correctly. I could have them mixed up with another team actually, but still it's an a considering all the transition. You coach everything. It's an a crystal palaces. Go, go.
Jerrell:Yep. Crystal Palace is in a for
Christian:Yeah, I'd, I, I'd agree. They won that trophy. They started off fucking trash in the beginning. They had a really hot run in the middle. And the main reason they have an A because their player, they're, they're self-proclaimed player of the season. Danny Munoz hey.
Jerrell:Yeah.
Will:like, where's he going with this one?
Jerrell:Self proclaimed or Christian proclaimed.
Christian:I think they actually announced Munoz as the, the, their player of the season.
Jerrell:Okay. Fair.
Christian:He was balling for them.
Will:He's
Jerrell:yeah, I think.
Will:his bowels,
Jerrell:I think we all agree. Crystal Powell did have a very good season this year us, but not least for today, at least the Cottagers. Where do you put full em? I feel like our expectations were a little bit high for them. C
Will:They left it late. I feel like they, yeah. CMA Israel. Go ahead.
Jerrell:Yeah, C minus for the cottages. I think we had them, I think they were right where we projected them to be in our. Preseason rankings. did we put them? Hang on.
Will:It,
Jerrell:I'm at
Will:was around mid table. They were, they were in it for like large slots as well of the season. I
Jerrell:12.
Will:we really saw them like fully just end up where they ended up on the table until the last couple of fixtures. But considering a team that ascended, like what? Two, three seasons ago, after like coming up, coming down, coming up, finishing mid table in a competitive league this season. Not too bad. I don't have key wins right now. Oh, they beat, they beat the bees. So I actually, I'm gonna have
Jerrell:Yes,
Will:a beam. Sorry, drew. like, what
Jerrell:yes.
Will:dick. What a dick. But yeah, they were able to get a win there. I think they got a win over our Liverpool as well. They won three,
Jerrell:Liverpool
Will:and, are able to beat Spurs tied with Manchester United FA Cup, they were able to advance on them. So I'm gonna give them a B minus. I think that 11 doesn't tell the full story of their season. They did fade towards the end of it that ended up where they were. But
Jerrell:Newcastle actually.
Will:yeah, so 54 points considering a bad run for'em to finish the season. They finished like about being average on goal differential, but honestly, we were. Five points away from like Brighton and seven points from like a European qualification spot. So I'm gonna go ahead and give it a B match, just'cause their season finished a little weak. But all, all in all, I feel like, solid season for Fulham, just a little disappointed towards the end.
Jerrell:Yeah, I wanna, I, I wanna go to a B minus, I wanna reevaluate my grade. at that history, I was like, and they had actually some pretty good wins against top, top of the table teams.
Will:I, I didn't go
Jerrell:Just, I just don't watch a lot. Yeah.
Will:11 mm, not a good number. So B minus.
Jerrell:Yeah.
Christian:I'm, I'm gonna go. I'm gonna go c plus plus. I'm gonna go, I think I'm gonna go, I think I'm gonna go c plus plus on this one. I don't know. I just feel like. Didn't really stand out to me throughout the season. They had memoral, it, it was just, it, it was weird. It was one of those things where like they were able to tie in and get points off of high teams, but they couldn't get any points off of lower teams. They beat Newcastle twice. They beat Chelsea at Sanford Bridge, but at the same time they drew to South Hampton, the A rated Ipswich town Tractor boys, and like they just struggled against teams that. Look around the similar statue. So it, it's weird. It's, it's, it's not anything that really stood out to me. So I'm gonna give it a c plus plus mostly.'cause to me C is average middle of the table average. No trophies to, to show for it c plus.
Will:Christian gave the equivalent of when you're in university and you get a 79.49 and you need that 0.5
Christian:Yeah.
Will:get that B. And I
Jerrell:Yeah.
Will:prof, please. Come on. Cool. And he's just you should have been better. No. Office hours
Jerrell:Ful is
Will:ended. said c plus plus I smack the fuck up out of a professor, bro.
Jerrell:F is just so funny though.'cause they beat Liverpool and they draw Liverpool, so they didn't lose the Liverpool either. It's just, I don't know.
Will:They,
Jerrell:Yeah, like you're saying, they just, they, they could rise to their opponent, but versa. They just could not
Will:beat
Jerrell:for some reason.
Will:as well. Top winner.
Jerrell:Yep.
Will:I think, I think all, all things considered just like on average considering they were in the championship I wanna say, two, three seasons ago. I'm just like, I, I fuck it dude. Mid, mid table's, like 54 points. That's solid season. But yeah,
Jerrell:Yeah. Only team did not lose to Liverpool, I believe.
Will:Hmm. Craven
Jerrell:Interesting.
Will:It gets scary over there.
Jerrell:Yeah.
Will:Yeah,
Jerrell:no lights on in the cottage.
Will:just
Jerrell:I can't find your way out. Yeah. Alright. And that's our team grades. Next week we'll do the, do the next five. We'll have Brentford, Bournemouth, Brighton, Nottingham Forest, and Ashton Villa, and then we'll get into our Champions League teams as well. So that will be fun. All right. Who wants to close this out?
Will:Go ahead Christian.
Jerrell:Not all at once.
Will:weeks. Christian. The fuck. Don't be shy, bro. The fuck? We tired, bro. Fuck.
Christian:We all tired. But yeah, it's been another great, great, great episode. Thanks for y'all for listening. We love y'all. We love y'all individually. Shout out to Omaha, Omaha.
Jerrell:Omaha the most.
Christian:As a reminder, we are on all the socials. We are on the Gmails, we have of our interns working overtime to reply to each one of you guys.
Jerrell:social though.
Christian:We're not, you're right, we're not in truth social because you know we're good people and yeah.
Will:Hell yeah.
Christian:Yeah.
Will:Hell yeah. just bro, what's wrong with having a true social bro to twist cap around? Yeah. Next week, as Gerald said, we're gonna cover six through 10 on the table. We'll probably touch on Club World Cup maybe to a little bit. Probably not.
Jerrell:Yeah, a little. We'll just check in on the table.
Will:have the exact start date, so don't quote us on that next week. And then we also have the, I I think in a couple weeks we're gonna have the end of season awards ready as we finish our first full season. Guys. It's gonna be great.
Jerrell:Woman's zero starts July 2nd.
Will:Yeah. That would be the next season's content. But at the end of season awards, we gotta, we gotta come up with this name. I feel like the footies is too basic.
Jerrell:I feel like I've seen that before. Yeah. Pending working title, submit your suggestions, the Football fellows@gmail.com.
Will:hell yeah.
Jerrell:Community Vote
Will:Yeah. And to the love of my
Jerrell:Omaha, get on it, please.
Will:love you.
Jerrell:All right. Peace. out.
Will:Peace.
