Jerrell:

Season two, episode 12, episode 57. Today's Thursday, December 4th, 2025, and we held off on the episode just a little bit longer because there was a match today and we wanted to make sure we brought 30 matches to everybody as opposed to 29, because that's just who we are.

Will:

will you give.

Jerrell:

Oh yeah,

Will:

I meant to that. So they'd be like, yo, what if I just record so we could talk about that arsenal thing? I'll just, I'll just talk to myself for

Jerrell:

if you did, I would've published it.

Will:

Next time I'm gonna grab the bull by the horns because I was like, damn, we're gonna have a lot of games to cover.

Jerrell:

Yeah.

Will:

But

Jerrell:

Yeah, because I know I've had to do that too, where I'm just like, it's a five minute video. I just need to make sure it gets covered and then we'll, we'll just come back to it.

Will:

I just wanted to talk about Eze, honestly. But now I feel like that happened three weeks ago.

Jerrell:

Know. I still talk about it though.

Will:

Oh, we gonna talk about it. How you been drill.

Jerrell:

I've been pretty good. I've been pretty good. Thanksgiving was good. Yeah.

Will:

Yeah, yeah, yeah. Just with family loved

Jerrell:

Yeah. How was your Thanksgiving?

Will:

It was good. We just had a traditional Latino thing of just like Turkey, s Beni, everything else, but it was good. A lot of driving.

Jerrell:

All right.

Will:

you

Jerrell:

You, you went down south.

Will:

I went to, no, I just went to Davenport.

Jerrell:

Yeah. That's pretty south,

Will:

it was good. Somehow didn't talk to my sister still yet,

Jerrell:

huh?

Will:

yeah.

Jerrell:

Amazing.

Will:

Yeah. Family.

Jerrell:

our content, we've got some social media. We have Twitter, X, whatever you wanna call it, blue Sky Instagram. The football Fellows. We have a website, football fellows.com. We, we may or may not be at Pod Fest in Orlando. The, platform that hosts our podcast and on email and was just like, Hey, we're buying podcaster tickets. It's in Orlando. I was like, fuck it, I'm in Orlando. Let's just see if I get them.

Will:

I saw that and I

Jerrell:

Oh, you did?

Will:

This is drill, drill handles admin,

Jerrell:

yeah. Yeah. So I was just like, Hey sure, why not? If it might be a fun little experience, I don't know. It's free. So

Will:

Catch

Jerrell:

Sprout

Will:

Fest.

Jerrell:

hit us up. I know you'll, I know you're reviewing our episodes to see, see if we're worth it, and I can guarantee you that we are.

Will:

an episode every day until

Jerrell:

bus bra recognizes us,

Will:

us. Yeah, I like Darrell just edited. Just send it. It was a perfect, another perfect pod.

Jerrell:

I did it. We have a new location listening of fabulous Las Vegas view of Las Vegas. They listen to our 50 chicken nugget meal episode that brings us up to 62 cities and still 21 countries. We are taking Royal 2021 countries. Didn't think we would be there, but.

Will:

live tweeting during this recording. See how it goes.

Jerrell:

Oh, amazing. So shout out to Vegas. We will be there one day and we'll win the trip back. But thank you for listening.

Will:

One way train.

Jerrell:

Yeah.

Will:

life is ruined.

Jerrell:

Last time we were on the pod will you were out it was me and Christian. So we reviewed Match day 11, but today we're gonna review three match days. So going all the way back to match day 12. We're I think like you said before, we're gonna broad stroke it phrasing and just talk about these teams.

Will:

Yeah.

Jerrell:

Yeah. I ordered it based on the table. So if we just want to touch on team, I figure like our top five, will we get the most talk and then probably our bottom three and everyone in the middle is just kind of like, yeah, they're keeping the ship afloat.

Will:

Before

Jerrell:

Arsenal,

Will:

before we start there, can, can I, can I, can we start, can we start somewhere else real quick?

Jerrell:

sure.

Will:

Alexa, play wolves.

Jerrell:

No,

Will:

know.

Jerrell:

you wanna start from the bottom of the table.

Will:

Two months ago, I was just like, wolves is gonna have what, eight, seven points, eight points by the end of October. And you guys even gave me like a little three day grace period because I was like, no, I need that third batch day. it's just been bad.

Jerrell:

It's been awful.

Will:

it's, sitting at two points tro they're on pan to watch. I've been gone for a couple weeks. I, I'm, I'm, I'm back locked in. Sorry. Life was life in,

Jerrell:

I feel like since you made that bet, they have not scored a goal.

Will:

They have not.'cause I literally listened to the recording when I was out and I was like, they just doubled up their point total. So by that math, they should have at least eight points in the next three match days. And

Jerrell:

Yeah,

Will:

been sitting at two. They haven't, they've lost seven straight in the Premier League. There's just no joy. It's so depressing.

Jerrell:

I feel bad for the supporters. They show up, but there's.

Will:

They're will, they hit 11 points is where I'm at with them. That's we're back where we were last year, where I, I thought, I thought they'd stay up and we wouldn't, but

Jerrell:

What's the lowest amount of goals scored in a Premier League?

Will:

we

Jerrell:

We might,

Will:

trivia.

Jerrell:

we, we might, we might be there too, so we'll put a pin in that.

Will:

It's been all downhill in

Jerrell:

So yeah, wolves, two points. No goals for the entire month of October. Last time they scored was in the Karabell October 29th. Yep. And they did score October 26th in Premier League, so that was the last time they scored. So maybe you shouldn't gamble with the wolves points will.

Will:

Maybe, maybe not. Mm

Jerrell:

So yeah, we've got that. Got that all the way. We saved the worst for, for first.

Will:

win something.

Jerrell:

Yeah.

Will:

I'm not gonna play wolves by Alexa again. Oh, on Alexa again.

Jerrell:

I wait until the new year. But we'll, we'll go all the way up to the top of the table

Will:

Oh.

Jerrell:

we see

Will:

much.

Jerrell:

Arsenal.

Will:

this one. Oh, so good.

Jerrell:

Arsenal has had a weird kind of path, in these past three games, I think before the Brentford game, they conceded in four straight games, which isn't uncommon for other teams, but the how dominant Arsenal had been defensively it was kind of like, Hey, what's, what's going on? A weird game against Chelsea, to be honest. And then putting it together against Brentford at home. So Arsenal sitting first in Premier League and first in the Champions League. How you feeling about Arsenal? I know they got some injuries again.

Will:

I'm feeling honestly all things considered feeling o okay. Man City's fitting five points back just off of, who Man City's been over the last decade. That's always just something to look over your shoulder. But nine points clear of Chelsea. We'll probably touch on Villa Villa's. Come back with great form. There's six points clear to them, but. That draw against Chelsea was in the middle of sandwich between after games with spurs, which we bossed on the road. And then also they convincing win against Byron Munich in my eyes, in the Champions League during midweek. So they had a high, a heavily rotated team against Chelsea. Given the circumstances, if you told me, Hey, Chelsea's gonna pick up a first half, right? You expect the three points, but I don't think dropping a point at Stanford Bridge is the end of the world, all things considered. And then Chelsea went and lost her midweek, i'm feeling pretty good considering like it's been pretty rare for us to have our initial starting 11 to begin the season and now injuries obviously at center back, Moscato went down. So Levo looks like he's coming back, but this is why we have all the depth, all those pieces. We, it's oh, do they need a do they really need a left footed center back? Who's gonna play left back in Cal Fre? A lot of pieces that we can mix around and touch and we haven't really seen a lot of MLS Ethan Ri throughout the season as well, injuries less than ideal, but considering past campaigns and where they've fallen, I feel I've been feeling pretty solid about Arsenal. All things considered.

Jerrell:

Oh, my mic just fell. All right.

Will:

Mic drop.

Jerrell:

yeah. That's crazy. Yeah, they, they have been playing well, it's just super, lemme just hold this in my hand. It's just super you would've, you would've hoped if you go a man up especially when Chelsea got the red card in the first half, you would hope that they could find a second goal. I think Chelsea scored first two, so it was just, a little wacky, a little wacky there, but Arsenal managing to get their seven points and yeah. And there injuries coming through. But I believe in, was it the Chelsea game? I think when Okay. Came back, he was able to play. I know Ogar is back as well, so as people recover, injuries start to spring up again. But yeah, as you said, the death is there and Arsenal is, is looking, looking pretty solid.

Will:

They flipped back to yesterday we were able to beat Brentford SAR drill. And just doing enough. And like I said, I've been saying this I think since last season. It's just yeah, the goals has been just Hey, yeah. We need to be able to kill games. But for the last two and a half seasons, maybe longer, depending on how you look at it, is just like what you know you're gonna get is just less stout defense. You're gonna get structure and it's usually takes something a little bit more special than just just there's space being players being in a position, space being occupied or just just I disorganized play defensively. David or Rye did have a huge save yesterday. He's been like a great keeper for them over the last couple seats since he came in. So I don't know. It, it feels good. Obviously you wanna see even Stevens as our swim fan. It's a long season. There's 24 match days left, but all things considered your five points clear over the top Manchester City, they've been playing a lot better over the, like the last month. But they haven't felt the same as they have, and Arsenal's been able to replicate a lot of their performances. So as long as they get a little bit more injury, look I feel like this momentum is sustainable, right? So we'll

Jerrell:

Yeah. Second on table is Man City. They scored nine goals since the last time we were on. They've conceived eight and they've gotten six points total. They dropped all three points against Newcastle. They had a weird game against leads where leads managed to tie late before Phil Foden sealed the game in stop like the first minute of stoppage time, and then Ham. They were comfortably ahead, but then Fulham just started just. Rattling off goals in the second half. Yeah. Suspect defense for Man City, but Holland gets his 100th Premier League goal in 111 games.

Will:

Yeah, 16 goals allowed by Manchester so far. We'll, we'll, we'll see if they can keep it up. They have a plus 16 goal differential, so that's second best in the league. In part with where they're at. It's really just gonna be can they fit, find that control that they've had in other pep season? It's tough match day against Sunland. Love that. I'm saying that at this point it's a home game,

Jerrell:

I know.

Will:

And then followed by they also have a match against rail Madrid in about a week too. As this December's usually tough, especially in the Premier League with all the match, competitions between Carrabelle Premier League. I think FA Cup starts end of the month, if I remember right. So we'll see how it goes.

Jerrell:

Yeah, a fake up. Yeah. I think it starts in January. Yeah, it's around there. Yeah, you're right. Aston Villa benefited the most after the international break, securing all nine points. Speeding, leads, wolves and Brighton, and they move up to third on the table.

Will:

Yeah, sorry. Someone tried to come into the office space real quick. He was like, oh, can you help? I was like, no, sorry. Yeah, Aston V especially from where they were, they went from not being able to score goals and they've just, they're now sitting third in the league. It's been fantastic. Yeah, I'm not gonna lie,

Jerrell:

No notes.

Will:

to touch too much over on them over the last couple of months, but it really just feels, just something as simple as the ball hitting the back of the net when I'm watching a lot of what they do. I think their first couple, it took them like six match days to finally score a goal. They had underlying metrics that showed like they were doing okay. They just seemed to be having bad luck in front of goal and now they're a little bit more clinical. They're controlling games a little bit better. They've been pretty solid, so it's been good to see them recover.'cause they were, they were also on Panda watch for a little bit where I was like, they have the talent or they gonna turn this back around. Goal differential, not the best, they're sitting at only six. But being able to win four of their last five has been huge for them.

Jerrell:

Yeah, it drove Jekyll and Hyde with Chelsea. They're, they're so interesting. It's ah, it's a wild card. Let's go. What, what Chelsea team are we gonna get today?

Will:

All the

Jerrell:

Villa? I'm sorry. Did I move on to Chelsea

Will:

I, I

Jerrell:

or am I,

Will:

kind of fit for me honestly. Honestly, feels like they're just trying to like, maintain what the positive momentum they've had over the last couple seasons, while also losing players, bringing new solutions and whatnot, and getting them under fit. Chelsea has been wildly interesting as well, but that's just sim like in a different aspect of just all the spending they have where they have, they have talent all over, like almost in an abundance. So how does this all work, right?

Jerrell:

Yeah, Chelsea losing the leads. Yesterday was, I was like, whoa, that's that's interesting. We leads, when you get promoted, like any win against these top of the table teams like this are the bonus points. So if you come away with those, it could keep you above the line. So yeah, Chelsea just just kind of, just weird. We gotta see, like you said, 24. Matches left. Really gotta see how it plays out with them in Champions League and throughout the rest of the season. But Chelsea's, Chelsea's a fun watch, either good or bad. I think Chelsea fans pulling their hair out some more times than not.

Will:

Yeah. Leeds getting that win pretty much put in my head that wolves might be fucked season. They're, they're saying 12 points clear. I know we're all kind of ping ponging around, but that's the kind of episode we're doing

Jerrell:

Yeah.

Will:

But it also has me a little concern for West End where West Dam's, they've been able to get points in four of their last five with two wins. But I'm also just kind of like, y'all gonna stay up. So Nottingham looked like they figured it out a little bit more, so they have a little bit of buffer. Fulham's been. Consistently solid the last couple years, and that's pretty much my cutoff on like teams. I think that could be like looking at, but I'm just kind of like, it'd be crazy if Westham and Wills went down after I was making bets,

Jerrell:

yeah, that's a wild. Rounding out the top five. Crystal Palace is occupying the Europa League spot. They collected six points since the last pod. They beat the wolves, they fall to Man United and they beat Burnley. Good wins, good wins for Palace Man United has improved, so they're not, they're not gimme games as they were last year. I think I like where, crystal Pollis is above expectations and happy to see them at fifth.

Will:

I was really expect they had every reason coming into this season to have the floor come out from all of them, losing za after losing Oise. I know we keep on bringing it up, but honestly outside of Regis Liberty coaches Derland, I think Oliver Glassner is probably doing the best job this season in the Premier League, considering all the pieces they lost, considering the winning they did last year. Considering your Captain Wa was trying to force a move out and you just. Sit strong pat, making sure that he stays if you lose him in a free later, them sitting in fifth. Another key win against Liverpool, I believe, and Karabell earlier in the season, is just like great, great start. It's still a long season, but they're sitting in a European spot, about a third of the way through the season all the things going on in the off season. Great to see. Great to see for palace.

Jerrell:

Yeah. And suddenly another surprise. Next up they're on being at home. That's incredible. For a pro, for an Ascension team. Unbeaten at home is, is something, and they almost beat Liverpool yesterday at Anfield. They were they had the goal, the go ahead and Liverpool managed to equalize it late. If they had won that game, that would've been their first one at Anfield since 1983. But Sutherland is Christian's favorite team. He picked a good one this season.

Will:

Twitter loves them. Christian would say,

Jerrell:

Yeah.

Will:

anytime I see a soul beer, I think of them, which is, good branding, good job Christian Christians that get that commission. But yeah, they're having a fantastic season. Easily the strongest of all the ascension teams sitting at six. Even if this is their peak for the season, not saying it would be, it's been a great, great, great start to the season for them. And honestly, it's enough of a platform where it's like you probably feel like they should be safe from relegation, even if wheels fall off for whatever reason. But yeah, good for them.

Jerrell:

Yep. And Brian quietly having a good season. They had the fourth most goals in, in league play, and Danny Welbeck is sitting third as far as goals scored. Yeah. Brian, what is that? Sitting seventh?

Will:

Yes, they, they heard drills. They was like, yeah, not a team I usually think of, and they took that, they took

Jerrell:

I.

Will:

again this season. So Brighton continued to build on like kind of some strengths of them. I might have to double check actually. No, actually I won't, I won't get into Oh no. Yeah, no, for sure. So their owners, did you hear about their owner being accused of operating a gambling syn syndicate?

Jerrell:

Amazing. I have not

Will:

We'll talk about it next week. It's fine as a recap episode, but apparently a 600 million pound gambling syndicator, I'm just like, hmm, hmm. We'll talk about it. We'll

Jerrell:

Interesting.

Will:

week. Actually, I'll, I'll, I'll put that to next week. I have to read more about it.

Jerrell:

American Express sponsorship's not paying enough

Will:

Apparently not.

Jerrell:

Liverpool.

Will:

done on Amex,

Jerrell:

yeah. Liverpool continues to struggle. They lost a forest. They salvaged the late draw against Sutherland. I know they lost to PSV in the Champions League. It's, it's the

Will:

walked by them, if I remember

Jerrell:

it was 4 0 1 by PSV. Yeah.

Will:

Hmm.

Jerrell:

I guess like you're playing with house money. If you're Liverpool, you won the league last year, everyone's just kind of like, ah, as long as you don't get relegated, we, it's all right. But you still want them to have a spot in the Champions League the next year. You don't expect them to be sitting all the way down here at eighth.

Will:

I think this is like one of their worst starts in the Premier League since 1964. You're going class has full and yes, obviously you get, get a little bit more leeway obviously,'cause hey, we just won the Premier League, but if I spent 400 million or 350, what I forgot the exact number of pounds in the

Jerrell:

most.

Will:

on a title winning team, for us to start doing this. I'm not chilling, I'm not like, don't get me wrong, I'm, I get it. Teams are gonna struggle, but they started off solid. I think they won their first five matches and over the LA next nine match days, they've

Jerrell:

And just finding ways to win those matches.

Will:

Yeah. And we pointed out and a little bit last year, but at least they had the defensive standout. They've given'em 21 goals through 14 match days. They're leaky in the back. Van Dyke, the goal he gave up. I felt like he was giving a shot where I'm just like you. You're not in a position right now to do it because you're not scoring at the same temple you are. Everyone you know, you're hearing complaints about solid being cooked, like his legs are gone off of him. Florian Verts had a hard time, has had a hard time adjusting. He was there a hundred million plus. Man. Esoc has been dealing with injuries after he lost his preseason, trying to force to move over there. He's your 150 million pound man. I'm just like this. Yes, it, it's, it's house money, but it's also, I did spend a lot of money for us to be sitting at nine, right?

Jerrell:

It's not even just house money. It's my money too.

Will:

it is my money, like I'm paying for this brother. and yeah, it looked like Florian Verts was gonna got his first goal to equalize. It was a own goal is how it was given up for Nordi mle. So he's still waiting for his first goal

Jerrell:

I am still waiting. That's a lot of money to not be scoring.

Will:

really unbalanced in their midfield and a little bit older and out of who slowed down after his like, blistering start at the start of the season when he was getting more burn. It just hasn't looked good for two, three months. We'll see. We'll see. But yeah, they have, they have leeway, but our slot looks a lot less comfortable over the last two months than he has throughout the rest of his Liverpool tenure.

Jerrell:

The subreddit soccer circle. Jerk is calling him the bald fraud. It's crazy.

Will:

We get our sources from. Soccer circle, jerk. It's funny because

Jerrell:

Yeah.

Will:

I be reading that sometimes when I'm just kind of like, oh, it's, I've been jerked.

Jerrell:

Yeah,

Will:

That's why when

Jerrell:

you're jerking me.

Will:

when we bring in like these transfer rumors from sometimes I was like, where did we get this from? Guys? I wanted, I just wanna make sure

Jerrell:

We didn't.

Will:

being jerked. Oh, okay.

Jerrell:

a Canva post and put it on Instagram and I was like, look,

Will:

Rumor mill.

Jerrell:

we're Charles in Orlando City. Man United I put bottled, but you got the draw. They did. They they tied against West Sam. West Sam found a equalizer later in the game, but Man United has found some consistency. We went from trashing Man United, talking about how he, Ruben Ameren isn't fit for the job. This man is on the side playing with his magnets while they're losing the Grimsby town.

Will:

That's crazy.

Jerrell:

Yeah. But all that being said, they're ninth on the table and honestly, I'd be like, Hey, they're putting it together. The goals are being scored.

Will:

Yeah. They, they, they're showing like some a, a sort of identity, they seem to have a plan. They. I know that there's already talks about them redoing their midfield again, but at least it looks like you're getting results. They had before yesterday's loss, they were able to pick up what, oh, I mean draw, sorry, what? 14 points in about six, seven games. So you're seeing positive results after what was like a very scary first, like five, six match days for them. I'm not going to, go and say Manchester United's back. They're only plus one in their goal differential. But there's. Some type of consistency being developed right now, which is what you really look for. You look for when you bring in a coach like AM and also not the worst like soundbite for Amron sometime. I know sometimes he's been looking shell shocked and just whatever. He did a thing where like people were like, how do you avoid like staying negative? He is oh no. Like I could get sponsorship deals probably and like branding opportunities, but I just stay off of it because I'm like, that shit's not worth my happiness or some shit. I was just like, maybe we can learn from Ameren, but fuck him.

Jerrell:

Really?

Will:

No, not him. Just the Red Devils in general.

Jerrell:

Oh yeah. Okay.

Will:

We're an unbiased po and it's good to, when you see Manchester United going, it's not, it's, it's, it's a good thing overall for the league.

Jerrell:

I think so. I don't know.

Will:

I lost someone.

Jerrell:

Everton's been pretty solid. They find themselves in the top half of the table. I don't think I've ever seen Everton rank or play so high in the last year and then even the year before since I've been watching the Premier League know they've gotten point deductions in the past and they've had awful starts to their season. But 10 Everton, you impressed me.

Will:

I never know where to put, like, where to place them in my head because I'm just like, they're just. Seem to be all over the place, over the, like the last two years they got 11 points in their first seven match days and then they've gotten 10 over their next seven. So I guess maybe that is a level, maybe this is their level. But yeah, anytime the other club in Mercy Side's doing well, you feel good about it. New stadium, they've had some moments. I never know. I, I, I'm a, I I feel like this is a team I should maybe watch it more of, but it is just, it's just tough on a week to week. But them sitting 10 is nice considering who we have next. And just of consistency, honestly. So

Jerrell:

Yeah, a totum, they, they don't like, they don't like winning for the home fans. They can they can't get points at home. They might get a draw here and there, but I think. We might have to stat check it, but they might have the worst home record outside of wolves

Will:

it feels about right, yeah.

Jerrell:

only managed to get one point in 10 days. Also losing in Champions league to PSG.

Will:

Five matches, I believe.

Jerrell:

Yeah.

Will:

a draw, three losses and another draw. Yeah. So it's just weird. I think from their early start, and we were singing their praises a little bit after the pod, I was like, let me dive a little bit deeper. And their underlying metrics weren't the best under Thomas Frank to start the season. Chubby Simons hasn't hit the ground running the way they'd like. Just a weird, I don't know. They have talent there. They're transitioning from like a new style, obviously, again after I, Andrew Pasta, Kalu. But there's just, I guess week to week, if I'm a Spears fan, I'm just like, what are we

Jerrell:

If Christian was here, he'd say Shit.

Will:

Pretty Ah, yes, yes, yes, yes. But it is just what are, what are we doing?'cause they were sitting around top five, early in the season. Now you see them technically mid table out sitting 11, and it's really congested around there. But it's just does spurs have the level to compete in the different competitions they have? also chasing a European spot. Again, you feel like it's a, yeah, but it feels like a lot of other teams around them are just have their identity and how they wanna play set up. And week to week, I don't know what I'm getting from Spurs, so

Jerrell:

Yeah. Speaking of identity, Newcastle, a strong defensive team getting wins at Man City Everton, and getting the draw with Tottenham. Just don't score more than one goal than, than Newcastle. And they're either gonna draw or they're gonna win. But yeah. Newcastle strong defensive team can see only four goals in in the past three. Look at looking pretty good. They were floating towards the bottom.'cause we were asking, Hey, where are the goals coming from? And they said, we saved it for Thanksgiving week. We got eight.

Will:

You take that away, right? It looks really fucking shitty though, right? Because then

Jerrell:

Yeah.

Will:

11 goals in 13. That shit doesn't. was it 11 and 12 or whatever? It doesn't look the best, but they also got hit hard by, by injuries started the season. They're obviously dealing with the UCL schedule and everything. I wouldn't, I maybe square peg, square holes. Hey, we're gonna really try to do well in this competition and, see where we land in Champions league. But the, I, it is, I guess it's more of a rotation thing at this time. Like how do you manage all these injuries? So every team's dealing with it, with the fixture congestion is just. hard to,'cause last year they had moments, obviously e stock's gone where I'm just kind of like, oh, this is definitely easily a top five team. You can see it in a, in a performance here and there. And then this week it's just like week to week where I'm just like, I feel like anyone can get at them, which is

Jerrell:

Yeah,

Will:

want on a week to week.

Jerrell:

definitely, definitely not. Speaking of one team that got it. Newcastle Brentford Brentford didn't have a good three game stretch. They got their one win at the GT Tech against Burnley. That was a fun game to watch penalties back and forth. It was cool. And then sadness to bookend those three days or those three matches. Brentford, it depends what pundit you ask, but a lot of people like Bruford style and their ability to score off of the long throw. Other people are like, nah, this is my relegation team. I'm talking to you, you, Tim Howard. But Brentford they're just sitting like about where I expected them to be. I thought I didn't think they were gonna be pushing anywhere towards Europe and just maintaining the status quo.

Will:

Yeah, everyone can probably have the excuse of, oh, it's a transition year, but Brentford for sure, a lot of their Just moved on after it was like a very successful cycle under Thomas Frank, including Thomas Frank. So really it's just about staying up, bringing in new pieces, seeing how they, you can get them to fit, blend, see how you wanna move forward going forward. But they started the season, start strong enough to give themselves a platform. They still have goals in them. They've given up 22 to start the season though at the same time. A little bit of a balance there. But all things considered, it's been a tough couple weeks with more fixtures. That's, I think, that's maybe to be expected. But, your job this season I think is stay up and finish as close to 10th as you can.

Jerrell:

Yeah. One, one Bright Spot for B Brentford. Igor Thiago is second on the Golden Boot Race. He has 11 goals. A lot of them come from the penalty spot, but hey,

Will:

BA

Jerrell:

we're, we're, we're scoring.

Will:

Yeah, a bucket's a bucket, bro. Take it.

Jerrell:

Yeah. Yep. Yep. Bourmouth, a team that had a really strong start this season has petered out. Big time born myth just falling all the way down to 14th. Right now they've lost four of their last five of meeting. So they started, they started their season, 5 3, 1, and I don't know what happened. I don't know what happened to Born Myth

Will:

I

Jerrell:

this past couple.

Will:

like a conversation we had where it's just I think what after nine match days, they were sitting at 18 points and they were hovering around, like honestly, top of the table sit. They were like. Four points back of Arsenal. But when you looked at what they were doing, their goal differential, I think they were sitting at one and it was just kind of like, I don't, I don't know if this is sustainable. And I feel like they just came crashing back to the earth a little bit harder than you'd like to see at this point. But it's more just kind of like, Hey, can we figure, what can we figure out going forward? What solutions do we have? I don't think they're, I think they're better than where they are on the table. But they're also not getting results. They are sitting at a negative three goal differential. 19 points. It's a cluster. There are only five points back of Chelsea who's sitting for, so I'm just like, there's room to move up on the table. They've just only have one point over, like their last five. So

Jerrell:

Yeah,

Will:

out soon.

Jerrell:

Bourmouth definitely a victim of the, point, cluster somebody, somebody has to be found in the wreckage, right? So board,

Will:

expect the body and the wreckage brother.

Jerrell:

the board finds themself down there at the bottom of the cluster. Fulham alluded to earlier, they scored four goals in a comeback attempt against man City. Outside of that, they did win their other two games, so they picked up six points full'em, trying to get some good padding from a relegation line. Sitting at 17 points, five points clear of Westham.

Will:

Yeah, I don't, I don't really have much to add to that. The two wins are huge. Seeing them hovering around that line where it's oh, is this gonna be a relegation battle? You just, obviously you always want points where you can get them, but Fullham I think also is just trying to create that culture of Hey, this is where you expect to see us season to season. You don't expect to see us down here.

Jerrell:

Yeah.

Will:

that positive momentum and kind of try to keep players interested in going there.

Jerrell:

And Nottingham Forest is on the third manager. I guess that's lucky for them. Forrest has three wins in their last five forest who we're looking at. We're just like, damn. It's a little tough for Forest. Got it together and are surging.

Will:

Yeah, I think Forrest is about where my relegation eyes wander to, right? They've been playing better over the last couple weeks. If I have my shit which I might not, don't get, don't

Jerrell:

Have they have one? Yeah,

Will:

you.

Jerrell:

three.

Will:

they won three. That's Villa. That's Villa. I'm gonna take your word for it. They've been playing better over the last couple weeks. Obviously they're not gonna be, hovering around that champions League spot that they might have that they were last year. But with, all the turnover, all the controversy off the pitch issues or whatnot, it looks like maybe they're finding a little bit of form Finally. Your job is just kinda remove yourself from allegation watch, right? And just see what you can make of

Jerrell:

Yeah, get that separation.

Will:

somewhere else, but only sitting three points above West Am. One point over leads, five points on Burnley. It's not comfortable enough for me to not be thinking about that at all for them. And that's this is like where you also see the goal differential. Start selling the story all. for is sitting at negative eight on goal differential only 14 games point goals through 14 games. But they've given up 22 goals. One of the leakier defenses in the league next to Manchester, United and Liverpool, just the way I predicted to start the season. So

Jerrell:

Yeah.

Will:

how it goes.

Jerrell:

Yeah, nine can Forest is not exactly safe, they're definitely helping themselves along. Leads would've been below the allegation line despite the result to Westham, but they got that one against Chelsea. Leads, taking matters into their own hands. And like we said, any points you can get from the top of the table are free points. So shout out to leads getting, getting it done.

Will:

Yeah. Much like Wes, Sam doing anything they can to lead me on,

Jerrell:

Hmm.

Will:

I'll take it.

Jerrell:

Yeah.

Will:

I'll take it.

Jerrell:

West, yeah, Westham. Getting the draw of Man United today does not help. It helps close the gap with leads, but they are our first of our bottom three teams. However, in their last five, they've only lost one game. They've won two and drawn twice. So it's looking positive

Will:

So

Jerrell:

Westham.

Will:

up is what I just heard.

Jerrell:

Yeah, I guess so.

Will:

The ball is rolling uphill, brother. It's all uphill from here.

Jerrell:

Yeah, they started, they got, they got their two wins and then they drew and then they lost and they drew again. But there's some fight in them.

Will:

You well. Yeah, we'll see. We'll see. Wes have not a team that I thought, but I'm also just they're an older team and the cracks are there, so we'll, we'll, we'll see if they stay up. We'll, we'll, we'll see if they're still my catfish by the end of the season.

Jerrell:

We shall see. And the bottom two teams,'cause we talked about wolves quite a few times, Burnley and Wolves, they have combined for 10 losses and.

Will:

negative

Jerrell:

of their past five.

Will:

Yeah.

Jerrell:

Yeah, you might as well just put them together except Burnley has three wins. Burnley has three wins as a chance to make it Outer allegation,

Will:

So

Jerrell:

staying four points behind leads.

Will:

this week, I think they went from like a 30 ish percent chance to get relegated to about a 52 or something

Jerrell:

Oh, nevermind. I.

Will:

Hey, you know that these are all just numbers, it's just math, but honestly, you can circle what leads into usually what you see when you can really tell the team's overwhelmed by the Premier League. And whether that's just just from talent a lot of times managers come up and they're just like, oh yeah, we're gonna play the same way you did in the championship, and just every other team does it better. It's for me, the biggest thing is just like, are you. Are you leaking goals and all of these teams are leaking goals. 26 for leads, Westham and

Jerrell:

Huge.

Will:

goals giving up wolves at 29 because usually you don't have the firepower to match it. So I, when we get to these bottom like four and I'm more looking at you, wolves with seven goals.

Jerrell:

Oh no.

Will:

at least are averaging about a goal of game. It is just but if you're giving up to a game, just that math ain't Matthew brother. So don't know. I don't see the joy for Bern Lee this season. And it's not like a knock on them I think. If they have a good program with like how they've been, up, they just came back up, they came, went down two years ago. So they're trying to figure out the solutions, but this is where I get bleak. this is where I was just like, I don't really see it in the cards, but I'd love to be proven wrong because I, it, it is, it, it, it's a good seeing Vincent the job Vincent Company did it now being led on with their new coach, it's like a fun little story to follow. I just, the presso mode.

Jerrell:

Yeah, Berlin can, they don't even have to win. Just string. String together. A couple draws might, might change the perception.

Will:

I'll

Jerrell:

The Wol, the wolves are just.

Will:

they won their first game and I was like, if they can win the second game against, I be, I forgot if it was Sunderland or if it was leads, I think it was Sunderland. I was like, yeah, six points in two weeks. That'd be a good way to start your season. And then they lost that game immediately, yeah, so I think I just gotta stop hoping for teams to start sitting on them.'cause Newcastle I was negative on last year and then they fucked on Arsenal and gave them their worst losses of the season pretty much. And then they, they took trophies home. So we'll see.

Jerrell:

Yeah. We did have Champions League and other European tournaments. We don't have to get into them unless you want to,

Will:

You

Jerrell:

but

Will:

some Champions League.

Jerrell:

but Newcastle, Chelsea, and Arsenal all won. Their, their matches with Tottenham, Liverpool, and Man City, all losing arsenal. Dust at top of the table, all wins, five oh and oh. So they're looking pretty good, especially against Byron Munich. That was a huge game and that was a good eye test to see oh, where does Arsenal stand against other top teams in Europe? And hey, three, one is a you. You could ask for more goals, but it's a damn good result.

Will:

What more do you need? Honestly, they control, they were able to go toe to toe with'em and they're sitting on 14 goals, only one allowed in your group face. Obviously it's not the tell end all, but they're looking pretty good for avoiding the knockouts. And that being able to replicate those performances, performances on those like Wednesday Night Champions League nights. Kind of just honestly matches the eye test We're seeing week to week in the Premier League. It's me knocking on Wood

Jerrell:

Yep.

Will:

looks really good. Byron Muni was probably what one of the best teams in Europe that you saw in a week to week. I don't think they've lost in the Buna League. And they were able to get, not comfortable, but they were able to just get, for the most part, control the game it

Jerrell:

Yeah,

Will:

What you look for on these nights. So I think by, was it Joshua? Mick was saying just oh yeah, when we played PSG, like they played football Arsenal, blah. I, I really don't give a shit about that analysis. I

Jerrell:

the loss is a loss. Yeah, I just.

Will:

and if though, if we are able to control the game, so you can't put us in dangerous spaces and get our goals off of set pieces because it's an advantage for us. Don't let us do it, then take the ball. But good

Jerrell:

Yeah, it reminds me of Cam Newton when the TI Tennessee Titans, they were so upset with him running the ball in and doing his Superman celebration. He's just then don't let me score

Will:

I've

Jerrell:

like.

Will:

so upset. I, I used to be upset when the Patriots would run up the score like 60 to three, like 13 on teams just throwing the ball on the fourth. But I was a Superman celebration. I was like, man, what Superman. So

Jerrell:

I, I, I get his highlights.

Will:

Yeah. It was like me being mad at, in Bape for being faster than everyone and being able to just score a hat trick any given day. No dude. Fuck it. Get a bucket.

Jerrell:

Yeah.

Will:

If everyone could do it, everyone would do it.

Jerrell:

Yeah. Crystal over the Europa conference, crystal Palace did lose to Strasbourg. They're 18th on the table. They are two zero and two, I think. How, how deep does European go? European football go? 24 teams or 30?

Will:

I'm sorry for the Euro League or the conference.

Jerrell:

All of it. I think they all have the same number of teams.

Will:

is 36 teams, and then 24 qualify eight straight through to the, round of 16, and then nine through 24 seeds will do a two game playoff.

Jerrell:

Gotcha.

Will:

yeah, same,

Jerrell:

So Crystal Powell is still alive, I think. I think the format's the same across all three tournaments. So yeah, crystal Powell is sitting 18th. They're definitely in the unseated part, but hey first time in Europe it's all about experience, right? And then in Europa League, Ashton Villa beat the young boys. Two won. They sit in third on the table when the Europa League and Nottingham Forest get a clean sheet against tomorrow. Mo they're sitting 16th on the table. They've strung together a couple matches in Europa since management changes. FA Cup round two will return tomorrow, actually. So we'll see the continuation of the FA Cup. And I believe Karabell Cup starts 1216.

Will:

Yeah, I think they're starting to sprinkle in those domestic cup ties over like the next month. So we'll get more back onto like our regular schedule of just kinda like, all right, we're covering this set of games. Preview this, talk about other things a little bit more. We definitely had to go a little bit broader, considering we definitely went American for this one. We were like Thanksgiving.

Jerrell:

Yeah.

Will:

hooping out there, but Thanksgiving brother, we're out of town. But we'll get back on our regular frequency over the next few weeks.

Jerrell:

For sure you wanna give, you wanna give everybody the match? Day 15 preview kicking off on Saturday.

Will:

because I know you queued that up for me. I didn't even have to look at it. So match day 15. Here we go. I forgot how to

Jerrell:

I'm.

Will:

in Spanish. I'm not gonna lie. That's crazy. We have Aston V. Home against Arsenal, Everton versus Nottingham Forest, Newcastle versus Burnley Man, city versus Sunderland. Spurs versus Brentford, away from the GT MI versus Chelsea, Leeds versus Liverpool, Brighton versus Westham Fullham versus Palace and Wolves versus Manchester United. Tell me Jarrell. What games do you have dialed in for this

Jerrell:

Brentford might be away from the hive of can't win at home,

Will:

hmm? What happens when the movable option? Object Meet to de stoppable force

Jerrell:

it's also the first time that Thomas Frank will play against Brentford, so that'll be an interesting match. Good story there. Aston Villa verse Arsenal. Hey, a couple weeks ago we were looking at Aston Villa, like 1215. Bottom of the table. This is a one verse three match. So this would be a fun one. And for some reason,

Will:

After arsenals one verse two match over

Jerrell:

Villa always finds a way. To get Arsenal, so we'll see if that, we'll see what happens on Saturday. Hopefully it won't. What about you, will any matches?

Will:

no. Honestly, I think you're covering the ones I want. Leads has a chance to do the funniest thing,

Jerrell:

Oh, hilarious.

Will:

they're able to get a result. Against Liverpool. It's away from Anfield of course, but getting result back to back Chelsea and Liverpool over what, four days would be an interesting thing. Do I see it? Will I predict it? No, but Liverpool's been on a slide. Spurs in Brentford to, like you touched on that would be fun. Just you have two teams in like different areas of their transition expecting different levels of play. So I think that would be guy, like a good litmus test. For Spurs at home, can you find a result? And Brentford, can you show we don't need you with what we're trying to accomplish this year?

Jerrell:

Wolves Man. United would've been more exciting had the had United won today, that'd be going in, looking for a three game win streak for the United Strand, but we're back at zero.

Will:

yeah, I feel like if you told me two months ago this game was happening, I'd be like, I, there's no way I'm fucking watching it. But Manchester United's been looking bit more fun, but Will's just honestly a little depressing right now to watch, so I'll probably. I'll probably peep in. Don't get me wrong, I just don't think I'll be having a good

Jerrell:

Just see how busy that stadium's looking.

Will:

How busy, how busy that stadium is looking, Molly and you.

Jerrell:

Modu, please show

Will:

this, please.

Jerrell:

shows out.

Will:

Yeah. Outside of that Brian Westham should be fun. Westham trying to see if they are still a catfish. Honestly, they're past catfish. Catfish implies that there's like some positive value that I can see on the outside and

Jerrell:

Absolutely not. Yeah,

Will:

long.

Jerrell:

City silent. That's, that'll be a, a fun one.

Will:

At thats, he had, I

Jerrell:

Yeah. If, if it was the other way around, it'd be more exciting, but.

Will:

I think Man City. He's trying to lock up Phil Foden to like a lifetime contract I saw before while I was doing some reading before the pod. So we'll see how that goes. But Sunderland, a

Jerrell:

He gets, he gets a hat trick.

Will:

now. So I, I'll be rooting for them if I'm going from a very biased standpoint, but it will be, it'll be tough

Jerrell:

The heat watch is real.

Will:

I don't

Jerrell:

Yeah, but man, city's man, man, city's a little, a little leaky in the back. So maybe Sutherland can find ways to exploit it. Anybody can get got any given Saturday.

Will:

Yeah. The

Jerrell:

But that was our match. Match day 15. We'll be back next week. We should be at full strength. We'll review match day 15. We'll go over match day 16. We'll talk about some other things too. We've been the football fellows. Thanks for hanging out with us. Follow us on our socials. Will, what are our socials?
